All about the dog
I wanted to post in the story of Station Jim, as he was a big feature on the station platform in the home town I grew up in. Whenever I took the train to London, lots of people used to go up to the glass and peer inside to see Jim, standing there, a proud reminder of his times.

A friend and I were talking about the station the other day, and this prompted the photo and story. Hope you enjoy it.

Interesting story about the dog. I wonder if it was cheaper to embalm him rather than have the typical bronze statue with nameplate?

I've no idea - about the embalming - Jim just always been there and for a while back there, he was going to be removed totaly - with much opposition so he stayed. I love to visit this icon at the station whenever I go back to the UK now. Thanks for reading my blog and leaving a comment.

Hi Krissie - it's really nice that you have "remembered" Station Jim. People still stand and stare at him whilst waiting for trains to London at Platform 5. I'll try and take a picture of him on my way home this evening - and put him up on my pages too! Thanks!
