Gentleman standing all by his self

without any support of column or trunk

in green and black holding his pointer

wrapped in the closed book of his left hand

Ready to keep on reading or writing again

he looks to the relief at square's overside

which gap he cldn't pass in life and works

but the poetic results of failed hope

Are eternalized and symbolized

in the gesture of honor like a golden twig

that is bestowed on him by a muse

topless dressed in draperies and veil

Having taken seat on the stony rock

that is missing from the poet Prešeren

but that is added to his stature

like a nimbus of art and glory

In green and black like indeed

a tree and bush dropping its leaves

to Prešeren's loins while she is herself

blocked from religious views by a couple

Of bleak trees planted just in front

of her by citizens concerned

about natural love as seriously

as it inspired France Prešeren.
