US TROOPS TAKE CHEMICAL PLANT...

This plant may have made chemical weapons.

About 30 Iraqi troops, including a general, surrendered today to US forces of the 3rd Infantry Division as they overtook huge installation apparently used to produce chemical weapons in An Najaf, some 250 kilometers south of Baghdad.

AMERICAN SOLDIER DETAINED AS SUSPECT AFTER ATTACK ON FELLOW TROOPS...

This is highly reminiscent of the “fragging” incidents.

An American soldier has died in a grenade attack carried out by another US serviceman at a military camp in Kuwait.

Sixteen troops were also injured when the soldier, thought to be a Muslim, lobbed three grenades into tents housing commanding officers from the 101st Airborne Division at Camp Pennsylvania.

Singer/songwriter Elvis Costello set the anti-war tone for the leisurely affair by performing his cover of "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding?" a Nick Lowe song originally written as a parody of peace anthems.
