Somewhere deep, deep in the trees, beside konoha Village...

“Kagebunshin-no jitsu” Naruto yelled, doing the hand formations for the technique, causing him to suddenly multiply into about a hundred Narutos. He and Sasuke were busy fighting against Orochimaru’s number one minion: Kabuto-kai, while protecting Sakura.

Sakura, instead of trying to help out, just stood there doing nothing but repeatedly saying “Sasuke-kun!”(Gasp!) and occasionally thinking about how she was a burden to the team.

The said Sasuke was using his 'Sharingan' and throwing several kunais or a shurekein in Kabuto’s direction at every chance he got. But Kabuto just kept deflecting them like they were nothing. Then Sasuke had an idea. He threw some decoy kunais at Kabuto who, as Sasuke had expected, dismissed them as mere kunais. But Kabuto was wrong and he realized his miscalculation a second too late. Sasuke’s kunais exploded upon contact with Kabuto’s as he used them to deflect the oncoming weapons. This was Sasuke’s chance. The second he saw an opening, he threw a carefully aimed shurekein and nailed Kabuto right in chest. Sasuke smirked in triumph as he watched Kabuto’s eyes widen in shock and his pupils become mere dots.

“Heh, got ‘em!” Naruto said grinning as he stepped closer, despite the fact that he was dog-tired from the short but intense fight.

Then Sasuke’s smirk disappeared from his face and he narrowed his eyes. Kabuto’s body had just been POOFed into a log with a shurekein stuck in it. Kabuto himself was nowhere to be found. Suddenly both Naruto, who’s Kagebunshins had all been dispelled, and Sasuke jumped away from the log. Kabuto had left them something in return; attached to the replacement log was not one, but three explosive notes.

KABOOM!

“Sasuke-kun!” said Sakura for the seventh time during the fight which was only about three minutes in as she sheilded herself from the impact of the explosion. Sasuke and Naruto did the same and they all skidded back a few feet. A small glint of sun on glasses caught the three Konoha ninjas' eyes as they noticed Kabuto's location. He was standing on tree branch a few meters away, smirking at them as he always did.

"Like my little..gift?" he joked, sneerily. Naruto sent a series of loud curses at him. Sasuke's eyes got even narrower, if that's possible. Sakura gasped quietly.

"Kagebunshin-no jitsu!" Naruto yelled as he did the hand formations for the techunique.

“Aaaaaaarhhh!” Naruto's replicas yelled as they charged from every direction at Kabuto, who easily dodged and dispelled them with quick, swift moves. He was using his middle and index finger to dispell the replicas the same way a person would use a pin or needle to pop a balloon. After he was done, he calmly pushed up his glasses, a satisfied smirk on his face.

Sasuke and Naruto were both breathing heavily and wondering how on earth they could beat Kabuto, who hadn’t even broken a sweat, and manage to keep Sakura safe. The trees that had only minutes ago been standing peacefully upright were now toppled over, uprooted, or in pieces; thanks to a certain fight between certain ninjas. Sakura was still thinking about how she was such a burden and was always slowing the team down. It was when she was considering quitting when it hit her like lightening-

-Sasuke had gotten sick of her calling his name and had decided to use Chidori on her(MUAHAHAH-cough cough)-

-just kidding. It was an idea that hit her, not Chidori (aw maaann). She decided to become a medic. That way, she thought gleefully, I could be useful! (and still do nothing but repeatedly say “Sasuke-kun!” while he and Naruto do all the fighting as usual.)

Naruto was about to use the ‘Kagebunshin-no jitsu’ again, when a familiar voice told him to stop. The three guys who were fighting and the pink haired girl all turned around to see who it was. It was none other than their cool teacher, Kakashi-sensei.

Together, the three kids chorused "Kakashi-sensei!"

Suddenly, his two students’ eyes bulged out of their heads-Sasuke's just widened slightly- as they saw something green, black and orange hurling towards them in a blur of speed. They all shouted different things at once, causing their sensei to give them a slightly alarmed look on the few visible parts of his face. It was also because of their shouting that they didn’t notice Kabuto vanish in a puff of smoke.

Sasuke: “Sensei, behind you!”

Sakura: “Kakashi-sensei!”

Naruto: “Kakashi-sensei, look out! There’s an ugly tree with black leaves and an orange trunk coming toward us REALLY fast!”

Kakashi-sensei slowly turned his head to look and surprised his students by turning back to them with his visible eye crinkled into what they had come to recognize as a smile.

Sasuke: “Hn…”

Sakura: “Huh? Kakashi-sensei…”

Naruto: “KAKASHI-SENSEI, WHY AREN’T YOU RUNNING?-!
