Strangely enough, the guys had the day off that day. It was rare but when they did get one, they spent it doing something fun like going to Disney World or Universal Studios Florida. The only time they actually took time off to go see there families was when they got more than a day off at a time.
“So, what are we going to do today?” asked Trevor when everyone had finished their cereal. Ashley smirked, a wicked smile spread across his face.
“We are going to go to Disney World today and we are going to invite the Mikes to come with us.” Jacob glared at him but didn’t say anything. It was Erik who spoke up.
“Are you crazy Ashley?! We can’t show you to the Mikes now, they’ll totally freak. They’ll be like, ‘why on earth did you do that to your hair’ and ‘we can’t have you acting like this Ashley’. Besides, the Mikes would never go to Disney World with us. They always have their noses in their work. No way they’d take time off. If you want my opinion, I think we oughta just stay here. I don’t think the world is ready for the new Ashley. I don’t think we’re ready for the new Ashley!”
“Yeah but we don’t have a choice,” Dan pointed out. “We have to deal.”
“Actually, now that I’ve gotten over the initial shock,” Jacob said, “I like the new Ashley. It brings a little more rock and spunk to the group. Now I don’t feel so out of place anymore.”
“You wouldn’t have felt so out of place in the first place if the Mikes didn’t make you change your style and your appearance because they thought you looked too much like Justin Timberlake,” Trevor pointed out. Jacob shrugged.
“True, but I’ve gotten used to it. And as a matter of fact, I actually like the new me. Well, it’s not new anymore really, but I do like it. Do you honestly think I would’ve kept this up if I didn’t like it?” Trevor shook his head. “Okay than, point proved. As I was saying, I like the new Ashley. I can’t wait to unleash him on the fans. I say let’s go for it with the Disney World idea. Maybe not with the Mikes but definitely Disney World.”
“Thank you for your agreement Jacob,” Ashley said in a dark voice. Jacob smiled.
“Well hey, someone has to be on your side of the tracks. I figured since I’m the rebel like one in the group, that someone should be me.”
“Hey, I never said I wasn’t on his side!” Trevor said, sounding offended.
“I never said you did but can you honestly tell me that you would’ve straight up said, ‘I’m with Ash, I think we should go to Disney World’?” Trevor didn’t say anything. “That’s what I thought.”
“Personally,” said Dan, “I wouldn’t mind showing off our new funky dark Ashley. It will give us something to boast about. If you think about it, every boy band’s baby member is always put out to be the cute, sweet, and innocent one. They are always the biggest heartthrob of the group. This will put a change to that. Now we can say we differ from Nsync and BSB. We have a baby member that’s not tagged with that label.”
“Yeah but if he used to be, it won’t be easy to get him put out there as someone else,” Erik said.
“So, are you down for Disney World Dan?” Ashley asked, ignoring Erik’s comment. Dan nodded. “Good, that’s three against one.”
“How is it three against one?” asked Jacob. “There are five off us.”
“True,” Dan responded, “But don’t forget, Trevor never made a decision. He never said if he was down for the Disney World idea or if he was with Erik on thinking we should just stay home. In any case, it wouldn’t matter what he voted, Disney World already won out.”
Ashley stood up and began to head for the door, grabbing a set of keys off the table. Erik ran to him and snatched them out of Ashley’s hand. Ashley looked at him and Erik folded his arms across his chest frowning.
“And where do you think you’re going with these?” He raised an eyebrow and cocked his head.
“To Disney World, where else?” Ashley replied coldly. Erik was tapping his foot. He shook his head.
“Not with my motorcycle keys you’re not. You don’t have a license for a motorcycle Ash. I don’t care how badass you’ve become, I don’t want you getting a ticket or worse, hurt. Regardless of this change, you’re still the baby, I’m still the oldest, and I will still look out for you.”
“He’s right Ash,” Jacob said. “You shouldn’t try to drive his motorcycle without a license just because you’re all big and bad now. Come on, we’ll take my car.” Ashley shrugged in defeat and followed Jacob out the door. Dan followed him and turned when he got to the doorway.
“You two coming or what?” Trevor got up out of his chair and walked over, pushing pass Dan and out the door. Erik sighed heavily, his arms still folded across his chest.
“Alright I’ll come, but it’s only because it wouldn’t be the same if we aren’t there altogether. Besides, I don’t want to sit here all alone with no one to talk to and nothing to do. Do you know how bored I would get?” Dan laughed and stepped aside so that Erik could make his way out the door. “You are such a gentleman,” Erik said sarcastically. Dan just rolled his eyes. He followed Erik, shut the door, and locked it behind them.
