Chapter 1

Warning: This story involves a major change in Ashley’s personality. If you do not agree with such an idea please go back or leave this site. I do not yet know if there will be any slash content because I am writing this story directly to the computer.

Disclaimer: I do not know O-town although I have three of them on my myspace friends page, Ashley, Dan, and Trevor. I have received responses from one of them but other than that, I don’t know them so please don’t ask me for their contact information.

It was night time when it happened to Ashley, the strange phenomenon that would change O-town’s angel as we know him. It was a very clear night in late June, which made such a thing unexpected. It was unusual for a thing as strange as this to happen on such a night as the one on which it did. Why it happened to Ashley, no one knows and why it happened at all is unclear as well. The rest of the group would ponder over how they could get their precious angel back and possibly if they could get him back at all. Let’s start at the beginning, shall we?

Ashley was sound asleep in his bed on a clear night in late June. The window was open to let in a breeze. Little did he know, the window being open would play a huge advantage to the events that were about to take place in his room that very night.

A heavy breeze blew in through the window, bringing with it a dark blue mist. The mist floated to the end of Ashley’s bed where it began to form a tall slender figure. The figure walked around the end of the bed and along the side until he came to where Ashley’s head rested on the pillow. He grinned and placed a hand on Ashley’s head.

The figure knelt down next to the bed and leaned over Ashley’s ear. “Wake up, precious angel,” he whispered in a mysterious yet evil voice. Normally, Ashley would not wake up so easy but in this case, his eyes opened and he turned his head to look at the figure.

Ashley pulled himself up into a sitting position and switched on the bedside table lamp. “Who are you?” he asked the figure quietly. The figure gave him a wan smile that frightened Ashley and he pressed up against the head board as far as he could. He looked at the figure with wide eyes.

“I am the man who is going to change your life forever,” the figure said, still smiling wanly at Ashley.

“How do you plan on changing my life forever?” Ashley managed to ask. The figure’s smile widened and he laughed.

“You are the perfect subject for my little job. You will find out the answer shortly. But you see, you are perfect because someone so pure and innocent is just what I need. Guaranteed, you won’t be so pure and innocent when I get through with you.”

Ashley didn’t say anything. He just looked at the figure, his eyes wider than ever. He couldn’t believe he was hearing this. He had no idea what the figure was going to do and he wasn’t sure if he liked it. He wanted to say something but his mouth wouldn’t let him. So he continued to stare at the figure with no words coming to him whatsoever.

“You see, it’s already begun.”

“It has?” Ashley finally managed to choke out. The figure nodded.

“You’re having trouble speaking aren’t you?” Again, Ashley tried to say something but couldn’t, so he just nodded his head in response. “Then it has begun. You are already in my grasp Ashley. Now for step two.” Ashley watched as the figure raised a hand and waved it down in front of Ashley’s face. Ashley’s eyes fluttered shut and he fell into a trance.

The figure walked back to the end of the bed and pulled a small scepter from inside his long black cloak. He waved his free hand over it and it began to glow a bright blue color. When he was satisfied that the glow was bright enough, he pointed the scepter at Ashley. A beam of light hit Ashley square in the chest.

The effects of the beam, other than three major differences, were hardly noticeable. These three included a large pair of shimmery black wings that sprouted from Ashley’s back. His hair turned the same shimmery black color and the ends became a fiery red. His blue eyes became a flame or electric blue. The figure smiled and pulled the scepter away. The glow went out and he placed it back in the cloak.

Again, the figure walked around the end of the bed and up the side until he was once again at Ashley’s head. He waved a hand over Ashley’s face for a second time and Ashley’s eyes shot open. He turned and looked at the figure. “How do you feel?” the figure asked with a smile.

Ashley did not say anything at first; he just merely looked at the figure. Then, a devilish smile spread across his face. “Quite well master, thank you for releasing me,” he said in a dark voice.

“Good. You do not have to call me master though, I only came to invoke your release. It is likely you will not see me again.” Ashley nodded to show that he understood. “Now get some sleep. I believe your little friends will have quite a surprise when they wake up.” Ashley laughed mischievously. The figure then turned back into the blue mist and disappeared out the window. Ashley smiled to himself in triumph. He couldn’t wait to show who he was now. He turned over and fell back to sleep, not bothering to shut off the lamp.
