THE ARRIVAL
(The six investigators are led with bags over their heads to the location and on into the Safe House. Once there, they are seated and left alone. One by one, they remove the bags over their heads.)
JACOB: Hey, my name’s Jacob.
LANCE: I’m Lance.
JC: JC.
AJ: My name’s AJ.
ERIK: I’m Erik.
BRIAN: Hi, I’m Brian. So, do any of you know what we’re in for?
LANCE: No idea dude.
AJ: There’s the computer. Let’s see what it has to tell us.
(The six of them make their way over to the computer that is sitting on a table a few feet away from them and AJ sits in front of it.)
AJ: To begin you investigation, click on the video.
(AJ clicks on ‘video’ and immediately a video begins to play.)
COMPUTER: WELCOME TO THE PINE SPRINGS PSYCHIATIC INSTITUTION. THE INSTITUTION WAS FIRST OPENED IN NINETEEN-O-TWO. IT HOUSED SOME OF THE MOST CRIMINALLY INSANE. IN NINETEEN-FOURTEEN, CHARLES DUVEAU, THE HEAD DOCTOR BEGAN TO LOSE HIS OWN SANITY AND TORTURED PATIENTS TO DEATH UNTIL FINALLY TAKING HIS OWN LIFE IN NINETEEN-SEVENTEEN. SINCE THEN, HIS SPIRIT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO POSSESS THE HEAD DOCTORS, CAUSING THEM TO FOLLOW IN HIS FOOTSTEPS UNTIL THE INSTITUTION WAS CLOSED IN NINETEEN-FIFTY-FOUR. YOUR MISSION – FIND OUT IF PINE SPRINGS PSYCHIATRIC INSTITUTION IS HAUNTED BY COMPLETING A SERIES OF DARES. YOU MUST FOLLOW THESE THREE RULES AT ALL TIMES.
RULE 1: YOU MUST DOCUMENT YOUR EXPERIENCES AT ALL TIMES.
RULE 2: THE INVESTIGATION WILL LAST OVER TWO DAYS. IF YOU COMPLETE ALL YOUR DARES, YOU WILL RECEIVE $5,000.
RULE 3: IF A TEAM MEMBER DOES NOT COMPLETE A DARE, THEY ARE DISQUALIFIED AND HAVE TO LEAVE WITH NOTHING. ANOTHER TEAM MEMBER WILL HAVE TO COMPLETE THE DARE.
START BY REMOVING THE BLACK POUCH FROM THE TABLE IN THE CENTER OF THE ROOM. YOU WILL EACH DRAW A COLORED PATCH FROM IT AND THEN ENTER YOUR NAMES INTO THE WEBSITE. YOU WILL BE INDENTIFIED THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE GAME BY YOUR COLOR.
(LANCE picks the pouch up off the table and they each draw a patch. Then, AJ enters their names and colors into the website. JACOB – Blue, JC – Red, AJ – Green, ERIK – White, LANCE – Purple, and BRIAN – Yellow.)
COMPUTER: YOUR INVESTIGATION BEGINS NOW. GOOD LUCK.
