- Rice -

A suprisingly difficult thing to cook correctly. Who hasn't been the victim of sloppy rice? Now you can find out how to make it perfect every time.

 

Ingredients:-

  • 100g / half a mug of american long grain rice per person,
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil (any type will do, but olive oil is best),
  • Salt,

Recipe:-

1) Wash the rice under a cold tap in a seive. Meanwhile boil plenty of water in a kettle.

2) Put the boiling water in a saucepan, turn on the heat and add the rice, salt, and oil.

3) Bring back to the boil, stir once, then simmer with the saucepan lid ON for 12 minutes.

4) Just before the 12 minutes are up, boil some more water in the kettle.

5) Drain the rice in a seive, and rinse under the freshly boiled water.

6) Leave to rest for 2 minutes, then serve.
