- Chilli Con Carne -

A tasty, spicy dish that goes well with rice.

 

Ingredients:-

  • 1/2 lb / 225g mince,
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes,
  • 1/2 red or green pepper, well chopped,
  • 1/2 onion, well chopped,
  • ** 1 can of kidney beans, **
  • ** 1 teaspoon chilli powder (more if you like it hot, or for the real hot-heads, a few drops of Dave's Insanity Sauce), **
  • 1 teaspoon cumin (optional, but really improves the flavour)


-- The starred ingredients can be replaced by a can of chilli beans to save effort.--

Recipe:-

1) Fry the mince and onions together in a frying pan, until the mince goes brown. Meanwhile, put the chopped peppers, cumin, tomatoes, kidney beans, and chilli powder into a saucepan and gently warm.

2) Add the cooked mince to the saucepan, and simmer for 1 hour, or until the mixture has thickened to your liking.

Easy as that!
