  wine tasting in Blue Mountains...

2003's summer holis, me and some good friends from my hostel went on a backpacking/adventure/drive trip to Australia. Stop by melbourne, sydney and also the Great Ocean drive/sleep :P

Blue Mountains was one of the places we visited. The view was breath-taking and the cottage that we stayed in was so cozy that it was just like our own homes. LOL

The climbs around Echo Point and the Three Sisters was fantastic ...and tiring. Despite some peeps' (LoL) empty bravado, we were really tired out by the end of the climbs. Hmm should start exercising eh.

The first day we got there, the whole valley was covered in mists, however on the last day there when we were leaving the place, we stop by for one last look and found the view cleared. And it was awesome!! I am definitely coming back again :D.

Sydney Rocks!! Simple as that.
It is really a beautiful city, modern and yet charming. Sad to say, it is really such a pleasant contrast with the fast-paced rush of singapore :(

The Sydney Opera House was magnificent, and as the sun sets, the opera house took on a beautiful yellow sheen. Wah.... Hmm weibin spoilt the moment tho, pointing out that the yellow sheen is more likely due to the stain on the tiles..

Hmm the only gripes would be that the shops close too early. Managed to get a few bargains tho, one shiny ripcurl watch and a pair of retro shoes ; ) Check out the quaint QVB (queen victoria building) shopping mall. Sad to say most of the stuffs here are only for looking. Too expensive :(

Everyone meet Tiggy. Lol. Bought him at Melbourne zoo where we touched down. Irresistible isn't he, sigh too bad for him, after giving him to my gf, she decided to name him tiggerina.... :(

Lucky for us tong leng's driving license was usable in OZ and we rented a car to tour the city in. Save our tired legs:P. We did have some misadventure tho, one traffic booking, jams and oh yah we drove across the Harbour Bridge 3 times for nothing.. (dun ask:P)

10-hrs of train ride lays between Sydney and Melbourne. Due to poor planning on our part, we shuttled between the two cities for our trip. Weibin wasn't bored tho, after picking a Ralph magazine at a news stand...

We ended our trip with the Great Ocean Drive on our last day in OZ. It was really beautiful! Along the way terrace houses hug the coast, facing the chilling wind from the sea. One can almost imagine the wind traveling all the way from antarctica to OZ.

Think its becuz of the season (winter ), there wasn't much vehicles on the road and it was so..so..... peaceful, one could almost fall asleeepppzzzzz..

Heehee, sigh the gang caught me sleeping again on the drive and secretly took a picture of me, but I'm glad I din miss much of the drive. The highlight was the the 12 Apostles at the end of the drive. Such a awe-inspiring sight, its clich└, but I really felt so small in the face of nature's power...wow.

  A family-owned wineyard...
