roll your mouse over the pixxies for
my comments on them

The basic rattan structures for the float itself. Pretty impressive workmanship from the Engineers!

Rag 2004 has definitely been the definitive committee for my entire hall life. From the start to the end, I've learnt a great amount of things and I believe that I have come out of it better (or at least I hoped:P)

Well, a large part of it being good, I guess, can be attributed to a bunch of people that I would missed dearly when I leave NUS. Samantha, Kelvin, Siqi, Yiying and Kexin. Oops, I left out some names there but to clear things up, these are the people I can safely say that we have become friends after Rag and would continue to do so for quite a while.

Glad that we managed to get a bunch of dancers that is totally likeable individually. Kudos to them for putting up a superb performance. Sigh, just kinda sad things didn't turn out the way we want.

Spent an insane amount of time doing "scales". For the layman, "scales" are just basically small detailing parts like those on the left that are used to cover the entire float. Lost count on how many type and amount of scales we did. Must be in the bazookazillions regions.

Now, Kelvin can be quite an ass at times. Haha. But I guess his silly antics from his short "affair" with yiying to his totally dumb walking the invisible dog, we were all glad for the laughs. Hmm of course, sometimes he can be quite a hoot judging from the pictures on the left. Caught in the act!!

So happy to be working with Dennis, Shiling and Sze again. Thoroughly talented people, I would say. Haha I know that despite what you guys say about me you all love me right!! urm... :) I love you guys too. Haha.

Its really quite an impressive engineering feat for the students to be able to construct such a huge project from nothing over the span of three months. From power drilling to sculpting, I guess even if we do badly in our studies we could all still find jobs as carpenters. Lol.

One happy event that did resulted from Rag was me meeting my girlfriend. The awkward pursuit. The numerous tao huays (Yes, I admit its the tao huays!), the late nights, all makes for quite a nice and wonderful experience. Going to work hard on this one!!

Getting used to sleeping in weird hours and weirder places. "Hijacked" a sofa set from the lobby and placed it in the designer's corner. Didn't take long for it to become a favorite spot among everyone.

Was really proud of myself for churning our designs after designs. Feels like some design marathon that lasted three months. Came up with these dance props in one day. *BEAM*

The support from the seniors was kinda lackluster and disappointing. Although was really gald that there were some hardcore people like the Alans, ex-Raggers. Things did turn out better otwards the end when the blocks start coming down to help out.

The freshies were really good. Came down on the own, initiated their own projects, am really glad this batch of freshies are doing well. Hooray for the hall!

The last hours leading up to the stoppage time for all work was really mad. Everyone was running all over the place trying to fit the things up. And Chuanleng was hounding me non-stop to finish up my part. Sigh. Nearly went mad. Haha.

We didn't manage to clinch any titles in the end. But we did manage to get plenty of good comments from a lot of people even some form other halls. Some people really thought we should have won the Presentation and the Design Shield. But I guess in any competition you win some you lose some. At least we can all safely say we are proud of what we have done.

My pet project - the costume for the main character, Animus. Feels like I was designing it for one of those wearable art competition. Am really glad it turned out well and was quite refreshing compared to the other hall's.

Three months. Blood, sweat, late nights. In just a few hours, every thing has become scraps. So you asked was it worth it?

Yes!
