Types of Rapists
POWER Rapist: Usually do not use violence, though they often use weapons or threats to get the victim to comply. They are often insecure and need to exert control over the victim. They often times want to believe that their victim enjoyed the encounter.
ANGER Rapist: Are motivated by payback or revenge.
These rapes are often impulsive and violent. The victim is usually a
random person and not the individual that the perpetrator was initially
angered by.
SADISTIC Rapist: Extremely violent and cruel. Methods of bondage
or torture are often used. These rapes are deliberate and premeditated. They often result in severe mutilation or murder.
While this list certainly does not cover every type of rapist, these are the three categories that rape is often broken down into.
