Getting Help

If you have been raped or sexually assaulted:
Get to a
safe place
Call the
police
Do not wash your body,
change your clothes or disturb
anything at the scene if possible. These things can be
used as evidence if you wish to press charges.
Call a trusted friend or
family member
Go to the hospital. This is
very important for checking for STDS, injuries, and
pregnancy along with preserving evidence.
Seek counseling at a local
rape crisis center.
Call a sexual assault
hotline to talk to a counselor. The national hotline number is
1-800-656-HOPE
