To identify the icons on the Tool bar or Format bar just put you mouse arrow on each one.

CHANGING THE MARGINS

HIGHLIGHT THE PARAGRAPH OR OTHER PART YOU WANT TO CHANGE AND THEN GO UP TO THE RULER AND BRING THE MARGINS SETTING TO WHERE YOU WANT THEM.

NUMBERING PARAGRAPHS

1.      PUT A 1 AND A PERIOD BEFORE YOU TYPE IN THE FIRST PARAGRAPH

2.      AT THE END OF THE 1. PARAGRAPH PECK THE ENTER KEY ON THE KEYBOARD

3.      THAT WILL AUTOMATICALLY GIVE YOU THE NEXT NUMBER

4.      TYPE IN THE NEXT PARAGRAPH AND PECK THE ENTER KEY ETC-ETC

COLORING YOUR TEXT

·         THIS WILL NOT DUPLICATE, BUT THE ORIGINAL IS IN RED. BEFORE TYPING THE TEXT GO UP TO THE FORMAT BAR AND CLICK THE LITTLE DOWN ARROW TO THE RIGHT OF THE A. YOU WILL GET A COLOR PALLET. CHOOSE THE COLOR YOU WANT BY CLICKING ON IT. NOW ALL THE TEXT YOU TYPE WILL BE IN THAT COLOR

·         IF YOU HAVE ALREADY TYPED THE TEXT IN BLACK, OR ANY OTHER COLOR, YOU CAN HIGHLIGHT WHAT YOU WANT TO CHANGE AND THEN GO TO THE PALLET AND DO THE SAME THING. (THIS SECOND PART IS IN BLUE ON THIS DOCUMENT).

ON THE TEXT ABOVE I PUT BULLETS AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH PARAGRAPH BY HIGHLIGHTING THE PARAGRAPHS AND THEN WENT UP TO THE FORMAT BAR AND CLICKED ON BULLETS

TO SEE YOUR NON-PRINTING CHARACTERS

Go up to the Tool bar and click on the symbol that looks like a paragraph symbol. This is some times handy to see what you have done. To turn it off, click on it again.
