Death is better, a milder fate than tyranny.
Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
In war, truth is the first casualty.
Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
Hold fast to dreams for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that
cannot fly.
Langston Hughes (1902 -1967)
Our thoughts hold our actions hostage. When we're angry, we lash out at other people, often innocent bystanders. If we're harboring self-pity, our sullenness punishes others. Resentments cling to us, tainting our relationships. In each case, our behavior reflects what's on our minds.
This isn't new information. We are what we think! But let's remember that thoughts are never forced on us. What we dwell on is by choice, however unhealthy it may be. We can dwell on love with as little fanfare as we can dwell on hurt or hate, but it will take concerted effort & lots of practice. Consider it a challenge that promises immense happiness. We can count on that absolutely.
Let's shake ourselves free of any thought that isn't enhancing our well-being or our relationships today.
Discovering the power of our thoughts will change us forever.
My thoughts are not at the whim of anyone else. I think what I want to. My thoughts will be positive today.
