Andrew Cheng Jew Wei's Mini Photo Album
Jew Wei has kindly consented to give us all a better insight into his life, family and work through these pictures. Jew Wei is one of the more active MACSians whether in Malacca or KL, now and before. As you will find out, he is a very active person, both in work and play. Thanks for sharing Andrew! <BGSOUND SRC="https://www.angelfire.com/blog/macsian/burnluv2.mid" LOOP=INFINITE> Now playing Jew Wei's favourie song: Burning Love by Elvis.

At Work & Play
At Work & Play

Work place: Bahagian Teknologi Pendidikan Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia Persiaran Bukit Kiara 50604 Kuala Lumpur. Interests: A qualified ITF (International Tennis Federation) coach (2003). There were only five successful participants out of the 15. from Penang, Selangor, KL, Perak and Hong Kong during the gruelling 6-day course. Presently coaching part-time “just to keep myself fit!” at the Kelab Darul Ehsan. At KDE, they have tennis programmes for Kiddies (below 8 on Sundays), Juniors (9 – 14 on Saturdays), Teens (15-18 on Sundays), Adults (on Friday night). Bored mat-salleh expat-wives & daughters? Anytime! (macam in the soap operas!) On other days, Tai Chi classes on Mondays and Wednesdays (both after office). Less badminton now but tries to make it a point to get children to play with him on Sunday mornings at office indoor court. Was playing for MESCA badminton (Ministry of Edu rep) since first joining BTP (at that time it was PSP – Perkhidmatan Sebaran Pendidikan, until 2003. Last year concentrated on tennis and came out Champ in the Men’s Veteran Singles and Runners-up for the Men’s Doubles and Veteran Doubles. Not bad, eh? Golf?… Confesses he must train at the Setapak driving range more. So far only practised with children twice, unable to even reach 100m! Jew Wei was the Badminton Men’s Doubles Champion during the Kuala Lipis District Badminton Championship 1977. Back then, he was famous for his crooked wooden Yoneyama racket! Played badminton for MESCA and travelled with the team to different states to compete. “Ada menang, ada kalah. Tapi semua seronok sahaja. Teamwork was good. I enjoyed meeting friends from the different states”, he says. SURPRISE, SURPRISE!: Jew Wei was the Ministry champ for Scrabble in 2003. Not just brawn but also brains lah nie! Unfortunately, last year’s championship was never held as the former champ, also the Scrabble orgainiser, was a sore loser. “So, I had no chance to defend my title!!! Apa boleh buat?” said Andrew. “Incidently, anyone for Scrabble ? What about Boggle? I like boggling with my children and wife on Friday nights after my tennis”, Andrew adds. Editor's comment: Kalau menang, activity lepas Boggling?
