APRIL 1, 2005 IS RONNIE'S BIRTHDAY!

"MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY!" One of Ron's Favourite Songs This simple entry is to make sure that I do not miss a birthdate of our classmate and my old neighbour with whom I've had many great memories, both in and out of the classroom.
We've made rockets, spear-guns and cross-bows together, arm-wrestled and karate-chopped against each other, learnt to roller skate, do wheelies on regular motorbikes and raced against each other with our cars - Ron's rear-engined Fiat 600 versus my 2-cylinder air-cooled Toyopet 700! In these very same mini-cars, we've roamed the streets of Malacca girl-hunting and group dating... And we've gone swimming in tin-mining pools and spent long hours fishing and even drove to Batu-Tiga for the then Malaysian Grand Prixs, overnighting at Templers Park to save costs. Ron had many friends and varied interests, but we respected each other always and never tried to influence each other otherwise. It is with quite some regret though that in the last decade, save for a visit I made to his home a few years ago during CNY, there isn't any communication or companionship as we went our own ways and led our own lifes.
