"Twenty-eight days... Six hours... Forty-two minutes... Twelve seconds... That is when the world will end"
*updated 1/24/07
Below are some of my midi compositions. I used a program called Cakewalk Music Creator to make these. I make these just for fun, but maybe, just maybe it's a small start to becoming a famous composer. yeah right...
Music Backround: I started playing piano when I was 11 (6th grade). I took lessons for 2 and a half years, then quit and did my own thing, which consisted of writing my own music, or playing off of sheet music. In high school band I played euphonium, tuba, and trombone. I taught myself most of what I know, including composition and theory. As of recently, i'm playing keyboard/piano in a rock band, and it is pretty damn awesome. I'm probably breaking a lot of "rules" with my pieces, but I say to hell with the rules....they are meant to be broken.
*NEW* Short Melody(1:51)- i wanted to write a short melodic piece and 30 minutes later this is what came out. sounds bittersweet like a lot of my music.
*NEW* Waltz in G Minor(3:36)- a waltz that starts out slow, has a quick happy little mid section, and ends slow. im noticing a little pattern in my writing, a sense of style. augmented chords kick ass when used at the right time.
*NEW* Organ Prelude in Ab (2:50)- i've always really liked the powerful sound of the pipe organ. I don't have a real one :( but i enjoy something similair on my keyboard. it is so versital that it is used in joyful occasions like a wedding and sad occasions like a funeral. anyways...i wrote this piece about a year ago... it was originally a piano piece, but sounds better on pipe organ.
*NEW* Evil Christmas (for rock band)(4:30)- another new song from my band.
*NEW* E minor (for rock band)(2:28)- i wrote out a version of one of our newest songs in my band...now complete!
*NEW* Sonata No.1 in G minor (2nd mvt)(3:19)- started out as some chords I liked to play in a certain order, but later developed into a musical piece of it's own.
*NEW* String Quintet No. 2 in Eb minor - a portion of the piece that was originally the 1st movement of piano sonata in G minor....still incomplete
Prelude in D Minor(1:41)- i wrote this piece to show more of my classical side.
although it's a serious work, i couldn't resist throwing in a few measures
of a "hoedown" melody.
Snow Day(3:37)- after it started snowing (when i was living up north), i was inspired to write some music.
A Love Song(2:58)- ....i love lamp. i love desk...but i especially love booze :p
Variation on Chopsticks(3:11)- just the idea of someone taking part of their day
to compose a variation on chopsticks is funny in itself (warning: an ives-like variation
included...comparable to a dog walking on a piano)
Prelude in C(0:52)- my attempt at a prelude in the style of the one and only...BACH
Message(1:15)- using an associating of letters to notes, i've created a piece in which the right hand spells out words. The main six note theme at the beginning is my name, which is a reoccuring theme throughout the piece. the left hand doesn't say anything, it's just there to try and harmonize the unusual combinations of notes.
Piano Song(1:49)- a simple, melodical piano piece. i put in some 3 against 2 rhythms
Hungarian Dance(2:14)- kinda similiar to the famous brahms piece, but not quite the same.
this piece is rigid, and some parts would require 3 hands to play it...oops.
String Duet(1:42)- a duet between violon (or viola) and cello. simple and mellow. though
i really had to meddle with it to get the phrasing how i wanted it.
String Quartet(2:04)- an expressive, somewhat dark piece for string quartet. kind of reminds
me of a really foggy place. i used many "strange" harmonies in the mid section.
Dance for a drunken pirate moron(1:44)- a musical joke, not to mention the unorthodox
instrumentation (elec. piano, ocarina, synth. bass) ...it's strange, lacks consistancy,
and makes you want to dance like an idiotic jolly pirate.
Chords(1:30)- after not writing anything for a while, i decided to start up again. this piece has piano scales running against an unusual combination of chords.
Tocatta(0:58)- a short, quirky, fast paced tocatta.
Nocturne in B minor(strings)(1:32)- a nocturne for strings
Nocture in B minor(piano)(1:20)- piano version of the nocturne
Anthem(1:36)- my attempt at patriotism...and countermelody
Stairway to hell(0:57)- an earlier composition, made for my friends website
Zeldasupermarket(0:51)- also made for my friends website, kind of reminds me of zelda in a supermarket
Tribute(1:30)- the first midi I created using cakewalk music creater. It kind of reminds me of pink floyd.

"do u have the captain in u? if not, then drink up bitch!"
