WHAT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ALLAH MOST HIGH: THE OPPOSITE OF THE ATTRIBUTES THAT ARE OBLIGATORY

43) The opposite of these attributes are impossible for Allah, such as Him having a direction.

WHAT IS POSSIBLE FOR ALLAH MOST HIGH: ALL THINGS IN OF THEMSELVES POSSIBLE (JA’IZ)

44) Anything that is possible, is possible (for Allah Most High) in bringing into being and bringing out of being such as His making someone rich.

 - definitions of possible, impossible, & necessary

 - His saying “anything that is possible is possible”

 - His saying “in bringing into being”

ALLAH CREATED THE SERVANT AND ALL OF THEIR ACTIONS

45) Allah is the Creator of the human being & his actions, giving success to any for whom He wishes to draw close

 - His saying “Allah is the Creator of the human being (slave) and his actions

SUCCESS AND FAILURE ARE FROM ALLAH

THE PROMISE AND THREAT OF ALLAH

46) And abasing the one for whom Allah has willed to be far from Allah, whether by disbelief or relatively distant by being a sinful believer.  And fulfilling for those He wills His promise.

 - Surat al-Rum Ayat 6

FELICITY (SA’ADA) & PERDITION (SHAQAWA)

47) The success of felicity is from beginningless eternality and likewise the one of perdition and these will not change.

THE SERVANT’S ACTION AND SAYINGS ON IT

48) And according to us the human is morally responsible through acquisition, without having any effect in that which they do, so understand

- 2 types of actions for humans

 - Allah creates actions

 - example of knife cutting and other examples

 - does not relate to the actual creating of actions

49) So he is not forced without will, rather he has choice – however not all of their actions are with their choice.

REWARD IS FROM ALLAH’S MERE GENEROSITY (FADL); PUNISHMENT IS FROM JUSTICE (‘ADL)

50) So if He rewards us it is by His mere generosity and if He punishes, it is solely by His justice

 - example from hadith

 - His saying “and if He punishes, it is solely by His justice”

IT IS NOT NECESSARY FOR ALLAH TO DO THAT WHICH IS BEST (ASLAH)

51) As for their saying that it is necessary for Allah to do that which is best: it is a despicable lie, there is nothing obligatory upon Allah

 -how this relates to possible, impossible & necessary

52) Have they not seen His giving pain to children?  So beware of absurdity and the like of this

 - His saying “Have they not seen His giving pain to children”

GOOD & EVIL ARE CREATED BY ALLAH

53) It is possible for Allah to create the evil and the good, such as Islam and ignorant disbelief

54) It is obligatory for us to believe in destiny & determining as has been established in the primary texts.

BEHOLDING ALLAH IN THE NEXT LIFE

55) And from the possible is for Him to be seen with eyesight, however without 'how' and without encompassing.

56) This beholding occurs in the Hereafter for the believers, because it was made conditional on something possible – and with this it occurred to the Chosen One in this life.
