THE SENDING OF THE MESSENGERS IS FROM ALLAH’S MERE GENEROSITY

57) And from the possible for Allah is sending the messengers. This is not obligatory upon Allah, but rather it is from His mere generosity.

 - His saying “And from it is sending all the messengers”

 - His saying “so there is no obligation upon Allah”

THE NECESSITY OF BELIEVING IN ALL PROPHETS UPON WHOM BE PEACE

58) However it is obligatory for us to believe in the messengers, so leave the vain desires of those whose vain desires have deluded them.

 - His saying “however it is obligatory for us to believe”

 - 25 mentioned in the Qur’an

 - His saying “of those whose vain desires have deluded them”

WHAT IS OBLIGATORY FOR THE PROPHETS

 -His saying “it is obligatory for them to be trustworthy, true & intelligent”

59) It is obligatory for them to be trustworthy, true & intelligent.

60) Likewise to convey everything they came with and the opposite of these are impossible for them as they have mentioned.

 Four Obligatory Attributes

 1) trustworthiness (amana)

       - preserved & purified from falling into sin

       - example of Sayyidina Adam

       - example of Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turning from blind man

 2) trueness (sidq) in speech

 3) intelligence

 4) conveying the message

- other attributes differed upon

       - human

       - adult

       - male

WHAT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE PROPHETS

 - His saying “and the opposite of these are impossible”

WHAT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE PROPHETS

61) Possible for them are things like eating and intercourse with their spouses

 - all human traits that do not abase their high rank

THE SAYING “THERE IS NO GOD BUT ALLAH & MUHAMMAD IS HIS MESSENGER”

62) Know that the two declarations of Islam encompass all the meanings that we have affirmed, so leave all dispute.
