In Chinese Cinderella, Adeline had problems with her family. Nobody seemed to like her but her grandfather and her Aunt. The others would say she is bad luck because her mom died when she was born. “Your bad Luck!” her brothers would say. The main character is of course Adeline who had to go through everything herself because no one was really there for her. I think Adeline shouldn’t have been blamed for her mother’s death because it wasn’t her fault.

This story is about a young child who grew up alone because her family didn’t really care for her that much because they thought she was bad luck form her mothers death. Everyone made fun of her. Her stepmother would slap her or hit her if she had done anything wrong. Out of all the family she was restricted to do a lot of things more than her brothers and sisters.

This was taken in the war when Asia wanted to conquer different lands. Adeline and her family had to move to different cities just to be safe. This place was taken in Hang Kong and Shanghai. The ending ended with Hong Kong but started with Shanghai where they first lived.

The major characters was only Adeline because she was the one who was called Chinese Cinderella because her mom died and her dad married someone who was really mean and cruel to her. They would make her do more stuff than the other peoples. Everyone would push her around and wouldn’t even care a bit about her and her dad forgot all about her too.

Yes the conflict was resolved. She did an essay and when she won she made Hong Kong and her family look good because she was the first person in Hong Kong who ever made it in and won. And also she got to go to England with her brother to study there and she finally got her fathers attention.

The setting was about a girl who had to go through many things and this story was taken during the war. She had many problems because she had to move to many different places at once. Sometimes she had to go to places without her family because her step mom wanted her to be taken away until it was time to bring her back.

The major issues in this book were feeling like having no family. The important thing I learned was that even if you your family doesn’t give you any attention or makes you feel less about your self. Don’t let them get in your way and make things happen the way you want it. Keep trying to get your goals done and success with it.

The title is called “Chinese Cinderella”. They called it Chinese Cinderella because Adeline was treated like the girl in the Fairly Tale. Her Mom died and her dad married a cruel stepmother. Her step mom gave her more restrictions than the others did. Her brothers and sisters would push her around and make her do things. They would also make fun of her all the time. She was nice and kind and treated everyone with respect. Her life can be compared with the Cinderella in the real Fair Tale.

Roll of Thunder is a story about racism and it tells you things about why you should stand up for your self. Like this one quote someone said. "Sometimes a person's got to fight". Mr. Morrison said this because it shows that the Logan kids have to fight. They shouldn't let the white people push them around or treat them badly. This book is mostly about racism and the colored people were getting blamed on so much. I think that is just wrong.

In Roll of Thunder, much racism occurred. The Black kids were to walk to school while they see the white kids getting to ride a school bus. The colored kids were not allowed to ride the school bus but they were forced to walk or find their own ride. At the end T.J was going to get hanged because they thought he killed the white owner and his wife of the store. They accused him because he was black and they were going to hang him.

The historical background of this story occurred in Civil Rights. It occurred when the whites were racist against black peoples. This was when Martin Luther King Jr. was protesting and had his boycott.

The major character was Cassie, Stacey, and T.J. Cassie is the point of view of the story. She's a young girl who at first doesn't understand the meaning of racism, but once she goes through so many problems that involves racism; she soon realizes what it means. A quote that I can use is," I cried for T.J. For T.J. and the land." I like this character because it showed how felt with the whole situation. She was important because it was her point of view of the story.

The major conflicts that they faced were all the racism that was going around. They had to walk to school and had to sit behind the classroom. The bus driver would drive fast to pretend to run over them. The major conflict was that they accused T.J of killing two white peoples. I don’t think this conflict was resolved because at the end T.J was supposed to be hanged.

The setting is where a family dealt with a lot of racism. This was important because it showed how much torture a family went through because of their race. This was also important because this will show how much of racism hurt a lot of peoples because it was not a good thing to do. We aware all born equal and it doesn’t matter on how we look nor what color or what our traditions are. We all have our ways but we were all born the same way.

The major issues were all the problems that dealt with racism. I learned that a lot African Americans went through a lot of issues because of their race and the color of their skin. In this book, whit people thought that they were higher than black people. It's important to learn this because people shouldn't be judged by the color of their skin.

The title is about the song Mr. Morrison sang. The theme of the story is that racism and how it will show you why its wrong. This book made the theme about racism because it will show how bad it was and why it wasn’t a good idea to do it.

The two stories were the same because it had to do with childrens dealing with things. Like for example Adeline had to go through tough times with her family dissing her and making it seem like she was just their slave. and for the Logan family on of the kids, T.J, was being accused of something he had not done. They all went rhoguh many problems.

The two stories were different because the wars that occured in both stories were based on different things. The war in Chinese Cinderella was based on conquering lands and the war on the other story was a was against the same civilization. It was more about racism and color. Also Adeline had no family member to get help from but the Logan family always had each other.

These books were great and many other students should read it. It has Morals in the stories teaching lessons on what they should do. It has advice on things too. It will show many people that these stories can be just like something they have gone through with or seen. I think that the book Chinese Cinderella thought me that you should never blame something to someone without any full proof. And in Roll Thunder T.J was getting accused of something too just because of his own color. This books were great and it’s the best book I have ever read.
