Number Twenty-Six: Death by Volcano Sacrifice

It had been forty-one days since Scott had awoken from the French cake incident to find himself in his bed, back at the Institute. Life began to get back to normal. Jean was being nice to him again, he’d fought with Logan in the Danger Room countless times, and was nearly up to equal with him on wins (they had a tally chart on the wall in the kitchen). All his classes had gone well, and he’d even organised a field trip for the elder students. And it was one of those days where you just begin to forget all those things in life that make it not so nice, like being sat on by Blob, or being hacked to death by elves. Scott was busy in the kitchen teaching Jubilee to cook. No harm there, he thought. Yes, there had been an unfortunate accident in the past with a blender, but the electric whisk wasn’t going to hurt him. Jubilee’s cake went into the oven and the two of them began to clear up.
Scott had been careful with spoons, he’d been careful not to anger Jean (you know what redheads are like), he’d been careful in the street. But after a while, as people do, he began to let his guard drop.
“So what are you going to do this afternoon, Jubilee?” Scott inquired, while filling a bowl with washing-up liquid and hot water.
“Oh, we’ve got something special planned,” she smiled. “It’s a surprise.”
“Well, have fun.”
“Oh, don’t worry, we will,” Jubes agreed.

Scott was surprised to find he was invited along on this “surprise”. The students, led by Ororo, climbed into the X-Van and informed Scott he was to come along too.
And when they arrived, finally, Scott found their trip was to a volcano. “What are we doing here?” he asked nervously.
“Go and stand up there, on the edge, and you’ll find out,” Kitty said, smiling sweetly.
“On the edge? What, here?” Scott looked down at them, facing away from the volcano.
“No, go back a bit further,” John called. “A step or two more, that’s it...”
There was a roar of fear from Scott as he fell backwards into the boiling molten lava, and a roar of happiness from the spectators standing safely nearby.

I have no more ideas for new chapters! And all the ones I got in reviews on fanfiction.net got deleted. So email me with your ideas if you want more chapters. Or email me to say you think I'm great, you love me, you want me dead, etc etc.
