High Priest Venoxis Strategy
Boss Status: Farm
Phase 1
To start the battle, have a tank run up and grab Venoxis. Bring Venoxis back down the stairs to the corner on the East side of the room, just off the stairs. The MT will need his own personal healer for this one. Keep Venoxis completely void of the other members in the group while they handle the snakes. There are 4 large snakes with Venoxis. The best strategy is to sleep/sheep 3 of these and have an off-tank grab agro on the one to DPS. Hunters should always be on the ball with marking the target to DPS as well. They break sheep and sleep very readily so mark your targets and keep an eye on them.Phase 2
Once all the snakes are downed, it is time for ranged DPS on Venoxis. Only the MT should be within range of Venoxis' Holy Nova AoE move as it is pretty nasty. It is important that you use ranged DPS in this fight to avoid mana tides on the healers. At 50% Venoxis will go in to snake form. His damage is increased and now has a WICKED AoE green poison cloud (somewhat similar to when killing the ghouls in Scholo) and uses this move approximately every 5-10s. Only 3 people should be meleeing at this point: the MT, the OT, and a rogue. IMMEDIATELY after Venoxis drops the AoE poison cloud the MT HAS to move him. It doesn't matter where you take him, since the room should be cleared... so just move! Continue to ranged DPS.Phase 3
At 15% Venoxis goes in to berserk mode and does increased damage. The OT has to be ready to taunt and grab agro if/when the MT goes down. At 15% all the rogues can move up to Venoxis and DPS like crazy. The poison cloud WILL kill you if you stay in it so if you want to live long get out of it. If the MT goes down, try to stop your attacks and allow the OT to grab agro... this makes it easier on the healer's mana and the group's morale (since us leather and cloth wearers won't get 1 shot).With all this being said -- and if this strategy is followed by 17/20 people in the raid -- it will be an easy battle.
