Brundi
-April and May of 1972.
-Involved Tutsi creating a genocide agasint the Hutu.
-Killed between 100,000 and 150,000 Hutu people
-Started by an up rise in the Hutu and angered the Tutis goverment
-People were publicly tortured and killed
-Tutis hired assasain to kill of Hutu Goverment employees, the educated few, and and people with material wealth.
-No international worries about this geneocide, exept Belgium, with drew finacial support and aid programs.
-Many african states supported and even gave troops to the Tutis
-The peace agreement is still under dispute
Rwanda
-April through July 1994
-Involved Tutsi, killed by the Hutu.
-Between 500,000 and 800,000 Tutsi and moderate Hutu, were killed by extremist Hutu.
-Started by the assassination of President Juvenal Habyarimana, His plane was shot down on April 6th,1994.
-Biggest mass killing of the last 10 years.
-U.S. knew the possibility of the genocide.
-The world health orginazation said they would not participate in this activity and did nothing to stop it.
-The surviros have been scared for life.
-Most Tutsi's were killed by machete cuts to the throat.
-Second biggest mass killing in Africa
-Killed off one fourth of the Rwandian population.
-Still finding bodies of the genocide 10 years later.
-Catholic cardinal John Rucyahana supported the Hutu in the mass killing and later disappeared without a trace after the genocide.
Hutu.
-Tribal group origionally from Ethiopia.
-Moved to Rwanda area in the early 700's.
-Considered now a terrorist organization.
-Rebeal group that involes the Hutu extremeist in Rwanda and Brundi..
-Ten commandments.
1. Tutsi are blood and power thirsty. They want to impose their hegemony on the Rwandan people by cannon and sword.
2. Ever Since the social revolution of ?59 not one day has passed that the Tutsi have let go of the idea of reconquering power in Rwanda and exterminating the intellectuals and dominating the Hutu agriculturists.
3. Tutsi use two means against Hutu: money and Tutsi women.
4. Tutsi sold their wives and daughters to the Hutu authorities. Tutsis tried to marry their wives to Hutu elite in order to have spies in the inner circle.
5. Tutsis did everything they could to erase the Hutu consciousness to the point that any Hutu that noticed the diabolical actions of the Tutsi was fired from their job without warning and thrown into jail.
6. Hutus must know that the Tutsi wife wherever she may be is serving the Tutsi ethnic group. In consequence, any Hutu who does the following is a traitor:
a) Acquires a Tutsi wife
b) Acquires a Tutsi concubine
c) Acquires a Tutsi secretary protégé
7. All Hutus must know that all Tutsis are dishonest in business. Their only goal is ethnic superiority.
8. The Rwandan Armed Forces (FAR) must be exclusively Hutu. The war in 1990 teaches us this lesson.
9. No military man (i.e., FAR soldier) may marry a Tutsi woman.
10. The Hutu must stop taking pity on the Tutsi.
