Some Guitar Stuff...

I've played guitar now for about 1 1/2 years, its been a lot of fun, good for when you're bored and for showing some creativity if you can't any other way... like me. I've never been good at drawing, or anything like that and I've always loved music, so playing guitar is I guess the way I "express myself". I like to play a variety of different things, most of the stuff is older, like Metallica old, not too old but not really new. If it has good guitar riffs in it for me to listen to, I'll most likely play it. I also love to make up my own stuff, and write lyrics to my songs. You can check them out here if you want. Whats some other stuff that I think have helped me... well lots of practice, and learning a lot of scales and finger exercises, I'd highly recommend finger excercises and scales for lead players thought, I know they've helped me a lot. Playing improv solos is fun too, and will help you a lot with speed, but you kind of have to know scales to do that. I would also suggest taking guitar lessons... they help a lot, but then you have the kids that say "oh I don't wanna take guitar lessons, I wanna be like Hendrix and be a self tought guitar player". Well Hendrix would probably have taken lessons if he had the money, or at least a teacher, no one is really self tought anyways, I would like to meet a guitarist the doesn't know a single lick or riff that someone else has written. I think everyone plays other peoples stuff, so... you can't really be self tought... I guess you could but that would be kind of dumb. And you would suck. Oh well I think I'm done now.. rambling on about stupid shit that no one gives a shit about. So you assholes get off here and go play guitar you wankers, make a name for yourself. Have fun, Rock On!
