Skateboarding of all I like to do is my longest... I've skated for 6-7 years, I don't even know anymore, but here are a few things I have to say about skateboarding, these days, and what I think of the progression... Enjoy.

What has happened people?

Lets see... where to start? Well I've skated for almost half my life, I'm 16
and skated for about 6-7 years, and I've definately seen some dramatic
changes in the world of skateboaring in the past few years. Let me share some with you.
Lets start with the good changes, more and more people are starting to skate,
I think thats awesome. I don't mind the kids at the skateparks, or asking me questions.
I remember when I was in their shoes, and still am sometimes when it comes to what
I want to learn. Most kids will say something like "Damn kids are always in my way, can't they
see I'm trying to skate?" or something stupid like that. I don't see the point, little kids aren't going
to listen anyways... besides the fact that they could be some of the next big names
in skateboarding, you never know. Another good change would be how much
money all the popularity has made skateboarding, I think thats awesome and just
progresses the sport, for new and old.

Now lets look at some of the bad things I've seen... some may be stupid, and
you may disagree, but I don't care, make your own page for that. Where to start... again?
Lets start with the kids that wear all the "skater" clothes, and have the "skater" hair,
but have never stepped on a skateboard a day in their neglected lives. I understand
if they just like the clothes, and like the hair style, there is still one thing that gets
me though... I'll explain. I remember in 5th grade, when I wore all that crap,
and looked like a "skater" I guess, and I had about, 3 friends because no one wanted
to be seen with a kid with raggedy clothes, baggy pants, and long hair. Who doesn't
fit that description these days? I mean seriously. Once again, its cool if they
just like the clothes, and the hair. But I just hate it when people think that
people like me, who've skated for years on end, and now that its the "cool" thing
to do, I'm just trying to be like everyone else... because I take on the look I
guess... and so does everyone else. So I'm just trying to be like everyone else now
right? I don't think so. I was here first asshole, now back off. :) Just a few
words I wanted to say... E-mail me complaints please, I'd like to hear something useless.
