The wedding of David Winner to Alexis Robbie was the news of the decade. The press was having a field day.
The church was crowded with family, friends, and acquaintances of the young couple, plus at least a dozen news crews.
No one was more annoyed with the reporters than the Gundam pilots.
The personal lives of the new generation of Gundam pilots was just too good an opportunity to pass up.
“Miss Maxwell! Miss Maxwell! Would you like to make a comment on your relationship with the bride and groom?”
“What’s the real story on how your sister came to be?”
“How did you feel when you found out your father had another child?”
“Miss Maxwell!”
Helen just continued marching through the halls of the church, trying to get away.
She looked across the room at Jason and rolled her eyes. He was leaning over on his crutch, giving an interview to a pretty young reporter and enjoying the publicity tremendously.
“Miss Maxwell, could you please…?”
Helen spun around angrily and glared at the group. “If you speak one more word to me, I swear I’ll send you all to the hospital! Leave…me…alone!” With that she picked up her skirt and hurried back in the direction she was headed. She didn’t want to be late; she was in the wedding party, after all.
She was relieved when she finally found the room.
“What took you so long, Helen?” Jasmine asked.
“Those damn reporters! They’re everywhere! Like mosquitoes!”
Jasmine just laughed and continued with her make up.
Helen looked around the room and spotted Alexis standing in front of a full-length mirror. She looked stunning.
Her thick hair was swept up in a diamond tiara with a matching necklace and earrings. Her gown was made of silk, satin and lace, with a long train and a style that complimented every slightest curve in her body.
“Wow…” Helen said as Alexis turned to face her.
Alexis smiled brightly, “This is so exciting!” She squealed.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful, but it was the reception that was the most interesting.
After the ceremony, the newlywed couple and everyone invited to the party headed for a small estate in the country for and outdoor receptions. The press was close behind them.
“Can’t you get them to leave?” David complained to his father.
“Sorry,” Dorothy cut in, “But it comes with the territory.”
They cut the cake and took the pictures and then the music started to play.
Jasmine and Seth were on the dance floor immediately. The cameras loved them. However, one reporter made a huge mistake.
“Miss Chang, Mr. Hamilton, could you tell us more about the effects of the war on you personally?”
“What are you talking about?” Seth asked as he spun Jasmine and then dipped her.
“Well, didn’t you two lose a child?”
The couple stopped dead in their tracks.
“You did not just say that!” Jasmine hissed. She stepped towards him and soon had him cornered.
In the meantime Seth was trying to get rid of the cameraman who was circling around him.
Eventually, he just punched him in the nose and watched with pleasure as he and his expensive equipment crashed to the ground. He looked over at his girlfriend but she seemed to be just fine. She had the reporter by his collar, scared shitless.
Jasmine said something to him and he stuttered a response and then made a hasty retreat.
Seth just laughed; that was his girl.

It took some doing, but Indigo finally persuaded Joel to dance with her.
“But…”
“No ‘buts’, you’re going to dance.” Joel groaned as Indy pulled him onto the floor.
Carol watched as the other couples filed onto the dance floor and couldn’t help but feel a little left out. She looked around, trying to find a suitable dance partner. She spotted Saber just behind her and smiled.
“Dance with me,” She said as she grabbed his hand.
“Huh?” Saber blinked.
Carol giggled, “Don’t be so shy! Come on!”
“But…but I-“
“But what?”
“I can’t dance…” He blushed.
Carol rolled her eyes. “Is that all? It’s easy! Come on, I’ll teach you!” She literally dragged him out onto the floor. The music slowed and Saber seemed to be in a panic as Carol pulled him closer and instructed him as to where his hands should go. Carol smiled inwardly as she rested her head on his shoulder.
As they danced they bumped right into Joel and Indy.
“Oh, sorry!” She said quickly. She didn’t want to deal with Joel on such a happy occasion.
“No problem,” Joel said with a smile. Carol was confused. Was Joel being nice?!
“And Carol…?”
“Yeah?”
“Welcome to the team.”
Carol grinned widely. “Joel!” She jumped him and hugged him until he turned blue. Indy and Saber both laughed.

Some of the more observant reporters noticed the tension between Helen Maxwell and Jason Yuy and they jumped on it. Helen was far beyond irritated. She sat down and tried to ignore the flood of questions aimed at her.
“Was it some kind of romantic encounter gone bad?”
“Did you really stay with him the entire 3 weeks he was in a coma?” If only they could understand… Helen thought to herself. Too bad she didn’t understand herself. What do I feel for him…?

Alexis and David shared their first dance as a married couple.
“Are you happy?” David asked.
“David,” Alexis sighed, “I’ve never been happier in my life. I’ve always known I would marry you.”
“Really?” David blushed.
“Really,” Alexis laughed and she kissed him. David turned red.
“Hey! Throw the bouquet!” Someone called. Alex and David broke apart.
“Okay,” Alexis laughed as she watched all the women crowd behind her.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw Jasmine and Indigo drag Helen, protesting all the way, into the group.
Smirking, she turned around and tossed the flowers over her shoulders. The bouquet hit it’s mark perfectly and smacked Helen in the face before falling into her hands. The crowd cheered.
“What the…?”
Alexis just laughed and waved.
Oh, if only looks could kill, Helen though darkly.
Next came David’s turn to get the garter.
No one had even see David more red. Alexis was howling with laughter. As he got it off, she nudged him and pointed at Jason.
David smirked in understanding. He carefully aimed and flicked the tiny garment at Jason. Jason caught it eagerly.
“Thanks!” He waved at David. David just looked away and pretended that he hadn’t done it on purpose.
“What’s he so happy about?” Helen grumbled.
“Don’t you know, Helen?” Carol gasped. “Whoever catches the garter has to put it back on the one who caught the bouquet.”
“WHAT?!” Helen cried. “I thought they just had to dance!”
“It’s a tradition.” Indy sighed.
“Why haven’t I ever heard of this tradition?” She muttered. Still, she kept her head held up high and walked over to Jason.
“Make it quick,” She sighed.
“Don’t kick me in the face, please.” He responded as he took hold of her ankle.
He had to sit down because of his injuries, but he still managed.
As he brought his hands up her leg, he thought he heard Helen take a deep breath.
“I love you too, Jason.”
He stopped; “Excuse me?” he said in shock as he looked up at her.
“You heard me,” She replied, keeping her eyes locked with his.
Jason stood up slowly, using his crutch for support.
“Y-you…you mean it?”
“Would I lie about something like this?” She sighed, “I did a lot of thinking while you were knocked out.” She admitted. “I guess I’ve known for a long time that I really do love you. I just didn’t want to admit it.”
Jason smiled as he tipped her head up. He didn’t know what to say to her. For once, Jason Yuy was speechless. Instead, he slowly brought his lips down over hers. A stunned silence fell over the crowd when they realized Helen wasn’t going to kick his ass. Then, suddenly, everyone started to cheer.
Jason grinned and Helen blushed. “Come on,” He whispered in her ear. “Let’s get out of here.”
To his surprise, Helen complied. The music started to play again and the couples went back out onto the dance floor.
Jason looked around and smiled.
Jasmine and Seth were over the loss of their child and were having a great time.
David and Alexis were finally together.
Indy and Joel were going strong and Joel seemed to have even accepted Carol.
And there seemed to be something blossoming between Carol and Saber.
Sally was recovering well and even Wufei looked happy. Finally, Jason thought as he looked at his friends. Everything is perfect. He put his hand around Helen’s waist and led her towards the house. Everything is exactly how it should be…
