"Jazz, if this is going to take you any longer, I’m just going to get in the hard way." Indigo complained to her friend as Jasmine tried to rewire the security system on the perimeter so they could sneak in.
"Do you want to do this?" Jasmine hissed.
Seth rolled his eyes, "You know, this was supposed to be my job."
Jasmine looked up and blinked at him. "Oh I’m sorry Seth, I forgot you were here. You should speak up."
Seth and Indigo both sweatdropped. Seth moved past Jasmine and had the wires rearranged in seconds. "Done, and done." He said proudly. "Let’s go."
~
"Why can’t I go in?" Brittney whined from her mobile suit. She was waiting in her Gundam to do her part in the mission.
"Because, we have to be here when the mobile suit battle starts." David explained. "Now be quiet."
"Yes sir," Brittney snorted mockingly.
Jason laughed at both of them and sank back into his seat.
Brittney grumbled under her breath. She had been told to wait for the MS battle, and suddenly David and Jason both volunteered to help her. She knew that the others would be at least an hour or two, and she was hoping to spend some ‘quality time’ with Jason. But with David around that was impossible. There was no doubt about it, David had been asked to keep an eye on her and Jason, and it was annoying as hell.
"Those guys had better not take too long."
~
"You’re going the wrong way!" Joel growled.
"How would you know?" Helen snapped back as she circled around the base.
"Because I actually looked at the maps."
"Hey, who’s in charge here?"
Joel said nothing.
"That’s right, I am. Now if you want to say something, be a good boy and raise your hand."
Joel rolled his eyes. "You’ve been spending too much time as an instructor."
"There we go!" Helen gasped after a moment. "That’s it, now all we have to do is get in." She focused her binoculars on a well-guarded hanger doorway. They could her mechanical grinding and clattering from inside.
"That’s the manufacturing station." She handed the binoculars to Joel. "You see the door to the right? That’s where we go in."
"Great Helen, how do we get past all those guards?"
Helen smirked, "Why, how do you think? Jasmine and the others are probably already working on the programming for the mobile dolls, as soon as they’re ready, we go."
"Wonderful, that will take forever."
Helen shrugged. "We can use this time to our advantage. Why don’t you go over the way back to our mobile suits? We have to be quick about getting in, planting the explosives, and getting out."
Joel grumbled something under his breath, but decided it was best to get everything ready. Better safe than sorry, I guess.
~~
"That was way too easy." Seth said as he ducked out of the vents and dropped to the ground. He waited for the girls to follow.
"Don’t get too cocky," Jasmine warned, "That was the easiest part of our day."
She peeked out the doorway and gave them the all clear. "Indy, where are we going?" Jasmine asked.
"Right," Indigo pointed as she slipped on her headset.
"All teams report," She said and waited for a reply from the others.
"We’re in position." Helen answered.
"We’re good over here!" Jason called.
"Great," Indigo put on her scanner glasses and examined the base. "I’ve detected guns coming from both south and west directions." She said.
"Damn," Jasmine cursed. "It looks like we won’t be getting off easy."
It was at that second that a floor of Matatara Foundation soldiers flooded the hallway. Jasmine and Seth got ready to fight, and Indigo pulled out a gun to cover them.
The Matatara made the first attack. The group ducked out of the way and Jasmine threw a smoke bomb towards them to distract them. Then, she and Seth came out of the mist and attacked. Jasmine swung out her foot at the first soldier and caught him in the neck. She heard a satisfying ‘pop’ as he crumbled to the ground. After that, they knew where she was, but Jasmine counter attacked them easily with a few graceful moves.
Seth was a bit rougher in the way he fought. But his street-fighting style still worked against the clumsy soldiers. He elbowed on guy in the face, the quickly punched another.
Indigo kept back and left the hand-to-hand fighting to the experts. She instead analysed the situation and provided cover fire. She kept behind a corner and waited for an open shot. She was so busy keeping an eye out for the other two that she didn’t notice the soldier break away and head for her.
"Hey sweetheart," He grinned. He grabbed her arm roughly and slammed her against the wall. His big hands grabbed her thighs tightly.
Indigo was appalled and she hit the man over the head with the but of her gun. The man fell down unceremoniously, and Indigo took the liberty of spitting on him before she returned to her job.
"Let’s go!" Jazz shouted suddenly. Indigo dashed after the Jasmine’s retreating form.
She led them to the room, where they easily ceased the control center for the mobile dolls.
"Oh boy, this is the fun part." Jasmine cracked her knuckles and supplied a program disk.
"Is that it?" Seth asked.
"Yep," Jasmine grinned, "I made it myself."
"Let’s just hope it works." Seth said as he slid it into the computer and started to reset the mobile doll commands according to Jasmine’s instructions.
It only took a few minutes to do it, and then they had to get back out.
"Done," Indigo cried suddenly. "Let’s get out of here."
"Good idea," Jasmine said as they heard pounding on the door.
"Open this door right now!" One of the men on the other side cried.
Jasmine couldn’t help but laugh at him. "They have couple of enemies held up in their control room and they expect us to just surrender?"
Seth chuckled as well as he pulled open the vents and climbed up. They were long gone by the time the Matatara got in.
~~
"OK Helen, Joel, you two are good to go." Indigo’s voice crackled over the Com Link.
"Right," Helen grinned maliciously as she stood up and nudged Joel. "Let’s go,"
Joel nodded and grabbed what they would need and followed her along the fence. The climbed over it and made a mad dash for the door.
"Hey! What are you kids doing? It’s dangerous!" One guard called and started to chase after them.
Helen smirked and kept running. "Hey! Get them!"
The two teens paid them no attention. Joel stopped and fired at them, giving Helen a chance to get inside.
She ran right for the main parts of the machines that would cause a chain reaction of explosions. Joel joined her after a minute, and they were in and out in ten minutes.
"Woo hoo!" Helen cheered. She ran from the base with Joel close behind. They made it past the guards again and disappeared into the forest.
"Get the mobile suits!" One of them ordered. Helen radioed Jason, David, and Brittney. "Get ready guys!" She called, "Here they come!"
Jason jumped when he heard Helen’s voice over the Com Link. "We’re on it Helen!"
"Finally!" Brittney groaned. She grabbed the controls of her Gundam and waited until she could attack. It was starting to get dark, and her Gundam was hidden fairly well. It was a perfect time for an ambush.
Helen ran past them and climbed up into her Gundam, followed by Joel.
On the other side of the base, Jasmine, Indigo, and Seth were also waiting for the attack.
It came quickly, the second the explosives went off, mobile dolls poured from the base.
Helen saw the number of mobile dolls and was confused. "How many did you guys leave in tact?" She asked.
"All of them," Jasmine smirked.
"What!"
"Don’t worry, Helen, I came up with something better."
Helen grit her teeth in anger and lunged at the nearest doll. They eight Gundams burst from the trees, completely surrounding the enemy.
The dolls would be no match for the Gundams.
The fight was slow and one-sided for a time, until a second wave was sent out. This time, it was harder.
Jason was hit in the arm by one of the dolls, and Indigo’s Gundam was thrown off its feet.
"Jasmine! What did you do?" Helen screamed.
"Just be patient!" Jasmine called back.
Helen noticed the suit about to destroy her seconds too late. She froze; there was nothing she could to avoid it. The suit brought its sabre down on her, but then suddenly froze only a few feet away from her.
Helen blinked and wondered what had happened.
The doll shuddered and looked at another doll beside it. It swung its sabre at the other doll instead, and sliced off its head. It tossed the head up into the air and hit it over to another suit nearby.
The headless suit walked around with its arms in front of it, and feeling where the head used to be connected.
"What the…?"
Jasmine started laughing hysterically. Helen looked in her direction and saw a line of mobile dolls linking arms and dancing the can-can.
"What on Earth is going on?" David cried. "This wasn’t in the plans!"
"Relax David," Jasmine sighed, "Now we can just pick ‘em off like flies."
Jason and Brittney were both having a hard time fighting, because they were rolling in laughter. David and Joel were annoyed, Jasmine was extremely proud of her self, and Indigo and Helen were trying to keep in their laughter long enough to get rid of the remaining suits.
"I had my doubts Jazz," Indigo laughed, "But this is brilliant!"
"Thank you," Jasmine mock-bowed. The battle was over in fifteen minutes, and the kids headed for home, their sides sore from laughing.
~~~
"Miss Cassius,"
"Yes, what is it?" Cassius sighed as she turned to look at the young soldier who had come to her.
"You’re not going to like this Miss…"
Her ears perked up. "What?"
"But, the Gundams have destroyed a mobile suit factory near Moscow."
"Oh well," She sighed, waving her hand, "We have more of those."
"Yes, but Miss, I think you should look at this."
"Hm? What is it now?"
The soldier handed her a portable screen with news reports from the battle. Cassius looked and saw her mobile dolls playing volleyball with a head and dancing in a chorus line.
"What!" Cassius shrieked! "How did they do this? How did this happen?"
"I-I don’t know ma’am," The soldier stuttered. Seething, Cassius turned on the poor young man and punched him in the face, hard. He was instantly knocked out and he fell to the floor. "How dare they mock me! I’ll show those little brats who they’re dealing with!"
~~~
When the kids arrived back at the base, they were still rolling with laughter.
Jasmine greedily accepted all the credit for her ideas.
"Cassius will think twice next time," Seth grinned.
"Yeah," Jasmine agreed. She then yawned and stretched her arms out. "I’m beat, I’m going to bed, see you guys in the morning.
"Good idea," Brittney said. "Night,"
"I’m going too," Indigo said, she glanced ver at Helen.
"Well don’t look at me," Helen said, "I’m going to get a snack before I go anywhere."
"Ooh, that sounds good." Indy said, "Will you bring me some ice cream? Anything chocolate is good."
"Oh! I’ll give you some money, grab me a chocolate bar from the machine OK? And how about some crackers?"
"And popcorn!" Requests from the girls were called out, and Helen accepted them as if there was nothing unusual about them eating strange combinations of food at 11:30 at night.
"Hey, how about getting us some nachos?" Jason suggested. Helen glared at him; "I’m not getting you anything."
The girl all went their separate ways, leaving the stunned guys standing in the hanger.
"Meow," Jason sighed. "I wonder what got into her?"
~~
With the mission being a complete success, the kids were given over a month off as intelligence gathered information for their next attack.
Jason soon discovered why the girls had been acting strangely the night they returned: PMS.
"Did you know it’s a proven fact that women who live together are on the same cycle?" David said matter-of-factly, after having been in an argument over nothing with Jasmine.
"We don’t need to know this David." Joel groaned.
"Yes you do, all the girls are on it right now. All four of them, Jasmine jut about bit my head off this afternoon."
"But Jasmine’s been edgy for the last two weeks." Seth pointed out. "She hardly ever lets me come near her anymore."
"God, she’s wising up." Joel grumbled.
Seth shot a glare at him, but said nothing.
"Well, just watch out," David warned.
~
Helen was miserable and craving chocolate. But she had run out nearly an hour ago, and she didn’t want to face anybody on her way to the cafeteria. Grumbling and shoving a few chips into hr mouth, she watched Jasmine run in and out of the bathroom.
"What are you doing?" Helen asked, with her mouth full.
"Looking for my calendar, have you seen it?"
"In the bathroom?"
"Well I’ve looked everywhere else."
"Try under the mattresses, Indigo was hiding things there last time I saw her."
Jasmine checked under all the mattresses and found only Indigo’s dairy. Until she looked under Helen’s bed.
"Here it is! Why was it there?"
Helen shrugged.
"Helen! Did you steal my calendar!" She waved the small black portable calendar in Helen’s face.
"No!" Helen snapped. "What’s so special about that thing anyway?"
Jasmine didn’t answer.
"Fine, be that way, bitch." Helen grumbled. She popped on a few more chips. After a few minutes of flipping through it, Jasmine paled. "Helen, I… haven’t had my period in over two months…"
