| The goal
of this application is to allow recruiters of the Virtual Placement Agency
to maintain information on companies, applicants, positions and skills.
This application allowed us to create a fully distributed component-based
application, with the deployment of components managed by Microsoft
Transaction Server (MTS). These requirements were laid out with Use Cases
which where determined by the System Analyst in conjunction with the
client's Management Staff.
Upon running the application, the user is asked to enter his/her
username and password.

the Multiple Document Interface (MDI) parent form. The menu bar on top
helps the user to easily navigate through the different forms of the
application. When this specific form loads, the list box is filed with all
the companies in the system. When the user selects a company from the list
box, the details of the selected company are displayed in the text boxes.
The user has the option of adding a new company or modifying the profile
of existing company.

The following form allows the recruiters to maintain information on the
different positions in the system. When the form loads, the combo box is
filled with all the companies. When the user selects a company from the
list, the second combo box is filled with the positions belonging to that
company. Upon selecting a position, the information pertaining to that
specific position will fill the text boxes. The user can add a new
position for a specific company, close a position that is set to active,
archive closed positions, or find candidates for a selected position.

This following form keeps track of all the applicants in the system. When
the form loads, the combo box is filled with all applicants. Selecting an
applicant will display his/her profile in the text boxes. The application
allows the user to add a new applicant or to modify the profile of an
existing applicant. After selecting an applicant, the recruiter can click
on "Find Positions". This will match the skills of the applicant
with the skills required by all the positions in the system.
|
|
|
When Place Applicants form is opened, the user can select an open position
and an available applicant and fill in the closed date and click
"Make Placement". This assigns
an applicant to a position thus removing the position and the applicant
from the immediate consideration of the recruiters.
