The Birth of the Microprocessor

In chapter 1, we have discussed about how register circuits behave and how a register circuit can be represented by a register transfer language.

In Chapter 2, we added an arithmetic logic unit which resulted to generating a more mathematically oriented register transfer language.

A processing unit can be produced when Registers and an Arithmetic Logic Unit is added together.

When the two are added the total number of RTLs are geared toward processing of data. Adding a Control Circuit with the Processing Unit will produce the Central Processing Unit.
