Nick looked at him, “We have to go back into the studios in a month.”
“Yeah, I know, but as far as touring and promotion, we have 2 months off.”
“Yeah.”
Brian was about to say something else when the phone rang, “Hello? Oh, hey Court. Yeah, I’m back. Sounds great to me….”
Nick rolled his eyes as Brian continued to talk to his girlfriend. Whether dreaming or awake Nick never got a girl, and it just wasn’t fair. He waited only a minute before waving to Brian and turning to leave. He noticed he needed gas and pulled into a gas station not far from his house. He was not paying attention, and jumped when someone behind him said hi. He turned and found Stephanie smiling at him, “You’re Nick right? I think A.J. introduced us in Chicago.”
“Um, yeah, hi.” Nick stammered
“May I ask you a question?”
Nick shrugged, “Sure.”
“Are you always this awkward with girls or is it just me?”
Nick blinked several times, “Umm…well…uhh, have we met before? I mean you seem so familiar.”
Stephanie shrugged and with a grin answered, “Maybe.” Nick was about to say something but she interrupted, “I have to be going. Nice seeing you again.” Before Nick could say anything else, she was gone.
Nick shook his head, everything was getting too strange.

Jessie was vacuuming the living room when Kevin came in. Her back was turned and she didn’t see him, if she had, she would have stopped singing As Long As You Love Me at the top of her lungs. Kevin grinned and went over and pulled the plug, “I DON’T CARE…….” Jessie stopped and whirled around, “What are you doing here?”
Kevin laughed, “I live here.”
“Oh, I forgot you were suppose to be home this week. I was just…I was cleaning.” She finished
“Has Laura called?”
Jessie thought for a minute, “I don’t think so, but your mother did.”
“Okay, any other messages?”
Jessie began to wind the vacuum cord up, “Umm, no.”
Kevin went into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and grinned. Jessie had already been to the store and stoked his refrigerator with his favorite. Just to be sure he went and opened the cabinet, as he suspected she had gotten his favorite, Ritz and peanut butter.
Kevin and Jessie had been friends ever since he had moved to Orlando. Now, most of the time when he was on tour Jessie would house sit. She was the best, she always cleaned and got groceries right before he got home. The phone rang and Kevin didn’t bother to answer it. The answering machine picked up, “Hey this is Kevin, I’m busy, but if you leave a message I’ll get back to you.”
He heard the beep and then his girlfriends voice, “Hey Kev, it’s Laura. I thought you were getting back today…”
Kevin picked up the phone, “Hey.”

Stephanie pulled up in the driveway and got out of her car. She hit the automatic lock and walked up the front sidewalk. Opening the door, she called for Megan, “Meg, you home?”
Megan stumbled out of the kitchen, “It’s early, where have you been?”
Stephanie smiled, “Out.”
