Livewire is a young mutant at Xavier's school who can generate and control electricy. He and his friends are quickly put on the X- list, a rigorous program for X-men in Training. His half brother Resistor has joined up with Magneto, and has been trying to kidnap Livewire to test out a new serum that supposedly increases a mutants power. To top it all off, Livewire's girlfriend is coming into her own power, as the Keeper of Shadows; a human-demon hybrid created to control the army of the Underworld for Ballael, the demon king and her genetic father. However, she has no desire to be a pawn for evil, and steals the army for her own purposes; namely to protect Livewire from harm. But when Magneto discovers her identy and plots to summon Ballael himself to steal the Keeper's power and betow it upon him, Livewire has to encourage his girlfriend from loosing her mind, keep the two of them from being kidnapped, and cope with the extra pressure of becoming an X-man, all while trying to maintain high enough grades to stay in the program.
