Disclaimer:I don't own them, I just play in their
lives occasionally. Joss Whedon does own them.
Warning: Okay, this is a silly fic. I was tired and
stressed from a hard day at work. So I warned you. Xander
and Angel are forced by Buffy to do some bonding.
"Okay, Dead boy. Why are you here?" asked Xander.
Angel glared at him "Buffy invited me, Xander. Why else
would I go anywhere that I might encounter you?"
Xander glared back at him "Buffy has a soft spot for you, but...
me...I trust you about as far as I can throw you." Xander
spat the words at him.
Buffy caught Angel's eye as she waited for their drinks, he had that "I'm gonna kill him, if you don't get here quick" look in his eyes. She took the drinks and headed for the two men at the table. "Enough is enough! This ends tonight." She told herself on the way back to the table.
Angel and Xander were both startled by the way Buffy slammed the drinks down on the table. They both turned to her very pretty, but very angry face. "You two, will stop this tonight, I mean it, I am tired of the snide remarks and stupid insults you throw at each other constantly. You are going to the video store, rent a movie, go to Angel's place, watch it and bond!" She told them, determination on her face.
They both stared at her, disbelief on their faces. "I'm not watching a movie with him" declared Angel.
Xander spoke up "I'm definitely not going to his place, forget it, Buff."
Buffy got in Xander's face "If you know what is good for you, Xander Harris, you will do what I say, now."
The authority in Buffy's voice, made Xander rethink his decision. "Okay." he said sullenly.
"But...Buffy" Angel said frowning.
Buffy marched up to Angel, on her tiptoes, she whispered something in his ear. He smiled broadly and said "Okay, I'll do it."
Xander frowned "I bet your deal was better then mine."
Angel smiled and raised his eyebrows "Some things are worth giving into her for."
"Now, go...bond!" Buffy said as she pointed them towards the door.
Xander and Angel walked to the video store. It was a friday night and the shelves were mostly bare. They finally settled on "Little Women", the clerk assured them it was a good movie.
They walked back to Angel's apartment in silence. Angel put the movie in. "I can't believe she's making us do this." whined Xander.
"Yeah, but she's cute when she's insistent." said Angel.
"What is this movie about?" asked Xander.
"I'm not sure, just watch it." Angel said annoyance in his voice.
"Hey, this might be good, its got Wynona Ryder and Claire Danes in it." said Xander happily.
"Yeah, and the little girl from 'Interview with a Vampire'. That's one of my favorites." Angel told him as he got comfortable in front of the tv.
"Oh, that's a shocker!" said Xander sarcastically.
They became quiet at they became engrossed in the lives of the March girls.
"Oh, poor Meg. Having to go to the dance and listen to those snobby girls talk about her family. They had Cordelia's even back then!" said Xander out loud.
"Yeah, even then" replied Angel.
"I guess you would know" said Xander.
"Yeah, I would. You know, Cordy's really not that bad, she has come through for us more then once." Angel told Xander sincerely.
"I know, she's not all bad. Thanks for saying that." Xander told him.
"No, problem" replied Angel.
When it came to Beth's death, they both got really quiet. Xander glanced through tearfilled eyes at Angel. He was surprised to see a tear running down the vampires cheek.
They looked at each other. "I can't believe Claire Danes died." said Xander sadly.
"Poor little, Beth" agreed Angel.
Buffy knocked on the door, not sure what to expect. Angel tried to dry his tears when as he got up to answer the door. Xander turned off the movie.
Angel let Buffy in, she immediatley noticed the tear streaks on his and Xander's faces. She misinterpreted where the tears had come from. Emotionally she told them "You two really did bond, didn't you?"
Xander and Angel looked at each other and made a silent decision, they turned to Buffy. "Yes, we did" they told her together.
"You were right, Buffy. All we needed was some time alone. I need to go now. Later, Angel." Xander said as he went to the door.
"Wait, what movie did you rent?" asked Buffy.
Xander and Angel looked at each other again conspiratorlily. Xander smiled and told her "Rambo, it was Rambo."
"Yeah, a great male movie" said Angel smiling. "See you later, Xander."
Xander left smiling, thinking to himself "Maybe, Dead boys, not so bad."
Angel was smiling at Buffy. "Why are you so happy? Are you that happy with your new friend, Xander?" she teased him.
"Actually, I was thinking...I did what you asked, Xander and I bonded. So...remember what you whispered in my ear at the Bronze." Angel asked her still smiling.
"Oh, that." She teased him as he drew her into his arms. Over Angel's shoulder, Buffy noticed the video box, the title clearly said 'Little Women'. She giggled to herself as his lips found hers.
