EDUCATION: A. S. Merritt College, Oakland, 1979 B. A. (with Honors) California State University Hayward, 1982 EMPLOYMENT: 1984-99 Artist/ Muralist. Producer of public artworks, canvasworks, photographs, drawings, and watercolors in studio. Creator of numerous works in studio and on site, both business and residential. EXPERIENCE: 1982-99 Produced over 100 murals including "GIRAPHICS", "THE LAKE MERRITT MURAL", "SALUD-THE BETHANY SENIOR CENTER", two of San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown's inaugural murals, the "NEIGHBORHOOD EXPERIENCE MURALS" for Mayor Jerry Brown's inaugural, and most recently a mini-mural for the "ARTSHIP" celebration. Have painted in multiple productions with Daniel Gaivez, Keith Sklar, John Wehrle, Gary Graham, Brooke Fancher, in Oakland, San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Served as consultant, juror, advisor, event coordinator for projects throughout the Bay Area, Five years as project assistant & co-creator of Renaissance of Papermaking, two years on C.V.A Board of Directors, writer of working Artist Coalition on-line newsletter at Oaklandnews.com. Arts teacher for students at Wildwood Elementary, Piedmont, St. Leo's, Oakland, St. David's School Richmond, Stanley Intermediate School, Lafayette, Sante Fe & Golden Gate, & La Escuelita Schools, Oakland. Private Arts Tutor. Currently on Mayor's Blue Ribbon Commission for Public Arts. SELECTED COMMISSIONED WORK: 1984-99 Numerous commisions to both individuals and businesses including Bramalea Pacific, California Pacific Designs, Levi Strauss & Co, Terranomics and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, City of Oakland, Port of Oakland & City of Concord, City of San Francisco. Currently working on a private commission for the executive director of the Port of San Franicisco EXHIBITIONS: 1984-99 Continous exhibitions of canvasworks, drawings and photocollage works thoughtout the San Francisco & Oakland area including Pro Arts, Center for the Visual Arts, San Mateo Arts Council, Capp Street & Somar. PRIZES, AWARDS & HONORS: 1987-99 Winner of "OBA", Individual Artistic Achievement, two "Orchid" awards for "Giraphics" and "Lake Merritt Mural". Winner of Express newspaper's Best of Bay Area Murals for 5 various years (including this and last year). Two resolutions of appriciation from Oakland Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board for mural work. LECTURES, DEMONSTRATIONS & WORKSHOPS: 1986-99 Over 8 dozen slide lectures in Oakland public and private schools, slide lectures in churchs, civic groups, and retirement centers.
