Welcome to my page. Scheriburm Cattery was established in 1990 named after the first queen Bonnie Brae Scheherazade, born April 1, 1989, in the home of the then 96 year old, Lydia Scott of Bonnie Brae Cattery in Shokan, New York. Lydia was well know in the cat world for over 50 years for her champion Abyssinians, Tonkinese and Burmese. Scheri's first breeding was to Bonnie Brae Minka. In 1991 Scheri began traveling to Oshawa, Ontario, Canada to be bred to CCA Grand Champion Kalmer's Kristofer Kazoo of Sharom. Eventually Kris came to live in Connecticut. He and Scheri continued to make beautiful babies until they both retired several years ago. Over the years bloodlines from six major Traditional Catteries have been successfully introduced to improve the lines. Scheriburm cats are known for their large, expressive eyes, beautiful coats, and loving dispositions. All kittens are hand raised. Kittens may leave at about 3 1/2 to 4 months of age and weigh 2 to 3 lbs. A new owner must agree to have the kitten altered at 6 months of age, agree to not declaw or allow to roam outside. Retirees are sometimes available for adoption. My cats are predominately Sable with occasional color kittens, mostly Blue. Scheriburm Cattery is a member of the CFA Burmese Breed Council and National Alliance of Burmese Breeders.
