“You are an idiot.” Nick said as A.J. opened the door.
“Go away Nick.”
A.J. tried to shut the door but Nick stopped him, “You look awful, why don’t you go talk to her.”
“Who?”
“Who else, your girlfriend.”
“Ex-girlfriend.” A.J. corrected. He turned and walked thru his house, Nick followed.
“Whatever, you guys need to talk. What’s up with this Jessie chic anyways?”
“She’s not my girlfriend if you are wondering. She ran off with some guy named Michael Patterson.”
“Ahuh, so go talk to Stephanie.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Why talk, we broke up, you guys are together.”
“We’re not together.” Nick corrected
A.J. looked at him, “But you’re going to ask her out.”
“I was.”
“You were?”
“She’s not in love with me A.J. She loves you.”
“No she doesn’t.”
“Yes she does.”
A.J. ignored him, “You’re wrong.”
Nick was starting to give up, but A.J. was making him mad, “A.J. if you don’t go talk to her it is your fault. You are throwing away something that I would give a lot to have!” with that he turned and left.

“She doesn’t look to good.” Brian whispered to Megan
“I know. She and A.J. were really good friends, and now they don’t even have that much anymore.”
“I don’t know why he’s being like this.”
“It’s not just his fault, they are both acting like idiots.”
Nick walked in and they both looked up, “Where’s Stephanie?”
“In the living room.” Megan answered
He walked past them and into the living room where he found Stephanie just as he had left her, “Can I talk to you?”
She looked up, “Have I ever said no?”
Nick gave her a half smile, “You have a point. It’s no big secret to everyone else, but I like you, and have for a long time.”
Stephanie blinked at him, “Nick I…”
He stopped her, “Let me finish. We have always been really good friends, and I don’t’ think you see me as anything more than just a friend, am I right?” She nodded, and he sighed, “Well, we have that all cleared up.”
“Nick I…..”
“No, I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s just forget abou…..” Stephanie leaned over and stopped him with a kiss. Shock ran thru Nick’s veins and then he found himself kissing her back.
