Megan laughed as Stephanie put the top down to their rented convertible, “Question. How are we going to find where they live?”
“Simple, call Brian and ask him what his address is.” Stephanie said slipping on her sunglasses.
“And who said you weren’t a genius.” Megan said digging in Stephanie’s bag for her cell phone.
Stephanie gave her a sideways glance, “What do you mean by that?”
“Nothing.” Megan mumbled dialing Brian’s number. It rang several times before a voice answered, but it wasn’t Brian’s, “Hi, is Brian there?”
“Yeah, hold on a sec.” The voice said. Moments later the voice came back on the line, “He’s busy, can I take a message?”
Megan couldn’t place the voice, “Who is this?”
“Who is this?” the voice asked
“This is Brian’s friend Megan..”
“Megan!…Hey, what’s up?”
“Nick? Is that you?”
“Yeah, what are you doing?”
On hearing Nick’s name Stephanie looked at Megan but didn’t say anything. She drove the car to a gas station and climbed out of the car to fill the tank. She stood quietly and listened to the rest of the conversation, “Well, I called Brian to get his address.”
“Why do you need his address?” Nick asked confused
“I need to send him something.” Megan answered grinning at Stephanie
Nick gave Megan the address and they chatted for a few minutes before Megan said she had to go. Megan followed Stephanie into the gas station to get a drink before they left to find Brian’s house, “So, Nick’s in Orlando?” Stephanie asked as she paid for the gas and drinks.
“Yeah, he said he was here for a few days.” Megan answered and watched her friend carefully. Stephanie didn’t have much of a reaction outwardly but inwardly she wanted to scream. She had planned to spend time with A.J. without Nick around to distract her, but now those plans would be forgotten.
“Do you think Brian will mind us asking to stay with him?” Megan asked breaking into Stephanie’s thoughts
“B-rok is a sweet heart, I’m sure he won’t mind at all, especially if you ask him.” Stephanie answered with a smirk.
If Megan could have gotten her hands on anything she would have beaten Stephanie over the head. Instead she climbed into the car and slammed the door.
It didn’t take them long to find Brian’s house. It was very nice, and Nick’s Darango was parked out front. Stephanie parked the convertible and they both went up to the front door. The knocked and waited, a few moments later the door was opened by a dripping wet Nick. He had a towel rapped around his waist and his hair was dripping little water droplets down his face. When he saw the girls his mouth fell open, “What?…You are not suppose…what are you doing here?”
“Oh, we love you too Nick.” Megan said rolling her eyes.
“You said you wanted to mail him something.” Nick said in his defense
“On the contrary, I said I needed to send him something. Well, here I am.”
“I’m sure it’s the best package he ever received.” Nick said smirking
Megan just glared at him as Stephanie laughed. “Does Brian know you are dripping all over his house?” Stephanie asked taking in the wet trail Nick had left behind him
“Oh, crap, well, come on in.” He said standing back so they could enter.
The followed Nick thru the house and into the kitchen, “I came in to get a coke when I heard you guys knock. Come on Brian’s out here.” Nick led them thru the backdoor into the backyard. Stephanie took in the nice surrounds while Megan zeroed in on Brian, who was in the pool. Stephanie nudged her as she laughed, “shut your mouth before a bug flies in.”
Just then Brian noticed them and gave them a strange look. He climbed out of the pool and walked over grabbing a towel on the way, “What are you two doing here?” He asked looking at Nick for an answer.
Nick threw up his hands, “I had nothing to do with it man, I just let them in.”
Brian smiled, Megan about passed out and Nick and Stephanie just looked at each other, “Well, this is the best surprise I’ve ever gotten.”
“Told ya he’d say that!” Nick said pointing
Megan glared at him, then she shrieked as Brian shook his wet head and sent water all over her, “Sorry, you looked like you needed to be cooled off.”
This had Nick and Stephanie rolling in the grass laughing, all Megan could do was glare at them and Brian couldn’t wipe the smile off of his face.
