Megan and Stephanie walked behind the group, which consisted of A.J., Kevin, Nick, Brian, and Laura, discussing their new project—Kevin and Laura. It was obvious to everyone that there was something there, and Megan and Stephanie planned to help it along. They walked down the street only a little ways to a small restaurant. They snickered as the situated it for them to sit next to each other.
Kevin and Laura were both thrilled with the situation but hid their excitement.
“So, Kev, how often are you in New York?” Megan asked
“Umm, quite a bit.” Kevin answered
“Laura, what kind of music do you listen to?” Stephanie asked
Laura looked at her friend for a minute, “I listen to a lot of stuff, you know that.”
“I must have forgot.” Stephanie answered with a smile.
Nick, A.J., and Brian picked up on Megan and Stephanie’s game and started asking Laura and Kevin all kinds of weird questions, after several minutes of being questioned, Kevin put a stop to it. “What are you guys doing? Could you please let us have a normal conversation without the stupid questions?”
“Sure Kev.” Stephanie answered on behalf of everyone.
The rest of the meal was spent in light conversation. On the way back to the hotel Laura pointed out where she lived. Everyone looked at each other and grinned.
“Hey, where’s Howie?” Nick asked
“He’s gone to the airport to pick up his girlfriend.” A.J. answered
“GIRLFRIEND?!?” Nick, Brian, and Kevin chorused
“Yeah.” A.J. answered
“Since when?” Nick asked
“Since 6 months ago. Her name’s Brandi.” A.J. stated as the entered the hotel.
“Well, I hope she’s nice.” Megan said as they headed up stairs.
