"I can't help it Christy. We've been here for 20 minutes and still no sign of them."
"They're gorgeous, give 'em a break."
"Is that your answer for everything?"
Christy laughed,"pretty much."
Just then several girls giggled and one even shrieked as 3 of the Backstreet Boys walked in.
"Which ones are they?" Alex whispered.
"that's my Kev, the tall gorgeous one," Christy said pointing.
"Don't point, it's rude." Alex said grabbing her hand.
Christy glared at her, "Thanks mom. Anyways, that's Kevin, the one next to him is Howie, and the other gorgeous one is A.J."
"Okay, but aren't there 5 of them?"
"Yeah, Brian and Nick are the other 2, they should be here."
Alex watched as each of the 3 made their way around the room signing autographs, giving hugs, and chatting with their fans. Pretty soon they made their way over to where she and Christy were standing. Howie was the first one to talk to them. He said hello and signed something for Christy, wished them both the best and moved on. A.J. was the next to say hi to them, and Alex had to admit he was pretty cute.
"How are you 2 lovely ladies doing this fine evening?"
Christy giggled while Alex rolled her eyes. Christy caught Alex's look and stepped on her foot.
"Hi, would you mind signing this for me?" Christy asked batting her eyes innocently.
"Sure thing."
"Oh please.", Alex grumbled under her breath.
"Alex, shut up!"
A.J. looked up from the CD cover he was signing for Christy, "Excuse me?"
Christy looked at him for a minute, "Oh not you, I was talking to her." Christy gave a weak smile when she really just wanted to leave.
"Oh you're name's Alex? Cool." A.J. said answering his own question. "the A. stands for Alex."
Alex just looked at him, "Oh." was all she could manage.
A.J. talked to Christy for a moment before moving on to the next fan waiting to drool all over him
"Okay, when you are meeting a gorgeous, rich, talented, FAMOUS guy, PLEASE BE NICE!!!" Christy told her friend thru clenched teeth.
Before Alex could reply Kevin was standing in front of them. He was very sweet and talked to both of them and signed something for Christy. Alex thought she was going to have to pick Christy up off the floor by the time Kevin had left,
"ohh...he is soo gorgeous." was all Christy could say over and over.
Alex then looked up into a pair of blue eyes that seemed to look almost right thru her. She stood almost dumbfounded for a minute trying to figure out why she was so dazed. She heard Christy babbling somewhere far off, but couldn't tear her eyes away from the tall blond that stood there looking at her. Almost as fast as it happened Alex was jerked out of her daze into the real world.
"...so, how do you like your little brother opening for you?" she heard Christy ask.
Nick had taken the CD cover Christy had offered him and wrote something on it.
"It's fun I guess." was his only reply. He looked up at Alex who was looking at the floor. "Hi." at this Alex's gaze flew back to his.
She felt the rush come over her again at the thought that he was talking to her. She heard herself say Hi but didn't know where it came from. 3 girls then appeared at his side asking for 3 different things. He glanced at them and then looked back at Alex. It was like having a whole conversation without saying anything. He looked at her one last time before he turned to the girls to answer their questions.
Christy was talking to someone and Alex turned to see that it was the 5th Backstreet Boy. Christy got her autograph and he said Hi to Alex before moving on. after 10 minutes had passed someone came in to tell the guys it was time to leave. Everyone in the room was heart broken at hearing this.
"Christy, what's the blond one's name?"
"Which one? the tall one or the short one?"
"the tall one."
"Oh, that's Nick. He's a little too boyish for me. I want a man like Kevin.." Christy continued to babble on but Alex looked around for Nick she saw him as he was walking out the door he just looked at her and then he was gone.....
