The Topaz Championship Slaughter

That's right folks.

There was a huge slaughter at the Topaz Championship, at least in my campaign. I'm not talking about the assassination of the Badger Daimyo by, um, ninja. I'm talking about an all out killing of people on day one. Here's how it started.

This unlikely group of contestants had three people: Togashi Izutsu, an ize-zumi with cool tatoos, Bayushi Shogashu, a Scorpion Samurai who's player hated Izutsu's player, and Chiko, a ronin samurai-ko who's player hated Shogashu's player. Well, it's not hate.
It's annoyance.

So, here I am with PC's who want to kill each other and are just waiting for a chance. Day one. Right in front of Megumi. Izutsu starts talking in riddles, just like an ize-zumi. Shogashu think's his clan has been dishonored, so he duels Izutsu, and kills him. Then, Izutsu's crane tattoo saves his life. Shogashu kills him again.

Now, a while later, Shogashu's player realizes that he can't remember his character's name, and it's just a bunch of random sylables. He asks me if it's ok to change his name, so now he's Bayushi Shogo.

The Topaz Championship starts, and the events go off great. During Horsemanship, Chiko loses. Shogo mocks her. Chiko had 45 points during character generation to Shogo's 25. She took Different school: Dragon. Who is your money on?

Chiko kills Shogo, and I as a good gm, realizing I'll have two bored players there as Chiko and I roleplay, I end the session, and that particular campaign, right then and there.

My player's wanted to know who eventually won.

I said "Toku".
