Plasmodiums- responsible for the common disease malaria. When this disease is transferred to humans it is usually carried by mosquitos. Once they are in the body they feed on content of cells, grow, and reproduce. At this point, so many Plasmodiums are produced that the blood cell ruptures and sends many Plasmodiums into the blood stream. The only way that Plasmodiums can be destroyed is by destroying their habitats.
