Shamari Fears was born in Detroit on Feb. 22, 1980. She delivers the powerful soul stylings to Blaque's songs.

Shamari always wanted to be in the music business so much so that while in eighth grade, she drummed up a story about a recording career. "I told everyone I had a deal and was looking for people to join my band," says Shamari. Shamari loves all kinds of music like R&B, alternative rock, rap and gospel.

When Shamari moved to Atlanta, she went to school with Natina in the fifth grade. "Shamari was very impressive with her personality", says Natina, leading to there 10 year friendship.

Later down the road, Shamari and Natina got into a group called, Butz, which was a 4 girl urban country singing group. Natina left and parted ways, but Shamari still stayed friends with Natina.

Shamari and a couple of the girls from Butz created a group called Intrigue. They played at local Atlanta talent shows were Shamari met Brandi a solo artist at the age of 14. The two became friends and stayed in touch.

Intrigue got a demo deal with Elektra Records, and they was on there way to hitting it big, but out of the blue comes Natina asking her to leave the group. "I tried to encourage her to leave, saying that they wasn't going to do anything," Natina commented. Natina wanted Shamari in her group, so Shamari left. Natina asked Shamari if she knew of anyone else. Well once again, Shamari met Brandi at another talent show and asked her to be in the group. She agreed, and Blaque has been tight ever since.

"I hate when people make assumptions about you based on looks. We dress really crazy and futuristic, but I hope people listen to our album before judging us." Shamari says.

Shamari, who handles the classic R&B vocal stylings for the threesome, says, "I'm like that little guy that follows everything around in the movie 'Dumb And Dumber.' "
