Let
me first introduce my self, my name is Ronnie Beem, aka; DJ RonnieB. I am now 24
years old and grew up in the far West Suburbs of Chicago. I lived there until I
graduated from Columbia College with a BA in 2004. At that point I moved to
South Florida where I live currently.
Now I
would like to take you back to the beginning of my DJ years....
I
have been making mixes since I was about 10 years old. My first Mixes
were songs I would record off the radio onto
tapes, and then take those songs and splice them together to make 30 minute
mixes. As technology became better, so did my mixes in 1994 I made my
first digital mix. I used my computer and a program to mix. This was
also my first mix released onto
CD. The mix was an instant hit.
In
1996 I decided to expand my DJ business into mobile DJing. My first gigs
were at friend’s homes, well word quickly spread and business grew by leaps
and bounds, I was now a successful pretty well known DJ in the area.
In
1997 I launched my web site. Within weeks I had fans from all around the World
buying my CDs and asking me when the next mix would come out. At first I made
mixes every few months, but then I decided to cut back and only make 2 mixes a
year, a Summer Mix and a Winter Holiday Mix.
As
time passed, I continued my mobile DJ business and making my Mixes twice a year
as well as maintaining my web site for my fans. As 1998 rolled around I began to
explore the dance club scene with my friends, I absolutely loved the dance clubs
and set my next goal on becoming a club DJ. Sometime in late '98 I got my
chance, my friends and I were at Club X in Palatine, IL and I went up to
the DJ in the booth and started talking to him. He was nice enough to let
me DJ the club for about 10 mins. The manager saw me and asked me if I would
like to become a fill in DJ, I jumped at the chance and was Club X's fill in DJ
for about a year. Unfortunately the club fell by the wayside and closed, but
this didn't stop me from dreaming.
For
some time since I had been doing the club DJing I had been thinking about plans
on opening my own dance club some day. Well in 2000 I finally sat down and wrote
up a business plan and some ideas for a club then called, "The Zomdroid"
After spending about six months on planning I decided to present my idea to
several people, they liked the idea of the club, but weren't too sure about the
concept I had. After that I took some time off of the club and went back to my
roots of making mixes and mobile DJing.
In
2002 I was getting another itch to open a dance club. This time before doing
anything I went to my brother for advice and ideas, since he tends to be more
creative in idea thinking then I am. We spent a night together tossing around
ideas of different clubs, until we came up with a rock solid idea on a club
unlike anything anyone has ever seen before. That night the idea of Arctix Club
(tm) was born.
Arctix
Club (tm) will be open hopefully sometime in 2005/2006 We are currently looking
