This is one of the biggest black bears I or anyone I talked with in my area of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan has seen in the spring. This male black bear was just out of hibernation and was very hungry. We estimate its weight to be about 350 lbs. This bear well gain 20% to 40% of its body weight again by fall. This would put this bear in the 500lb range by fall. "WOW"
