Richard Diaz has a bright future ahead of him. He is the youngest member of the SJC Professional Boxing Team, at the age of 21. He successfully began his pro career on our October 1995 show with a four round unanimous decision over Juan Cruz, of Miami. Diaz is a flyweight and lives in Lehigh Acres. Currently, he is 5-1 with 2 K.O.'s. His outstanding amateur record was 44-6, including four Junior Olympic Championships, and several State and Regional Titles. He is an outstanding boxer and terrific counter-puncher. He works hard in the gym and dreams of being a world champion. After a seven year "retirement" Richard Diaz is back ready to fulfill his potential. He had gotten married, had twins and was working a regular job. Now, with the blessing of his family, he is more determined than ever to resume his career. He will be campaigning as a bantamweight.
