Our Background
Sequoia Ministry was founded in 1991, to provide students of all ages
with a biblical foundation for the study of natural science and
history from a Christian perspective. Our emphasis is on "hands on
learning", while teaching Christian stewardship over the
resources with which God entrusted us.
Our natural science and environmental education classes are CHRIST CENTERED AND BIBLE BASED, and are tailored for schools, church groups, home educators, and camps. Programs are designed to meet the needs of students from kindergarten to the highschool level .
Your Teacher
Bruce Larson, former Park Ranger Naturalist has 15 years of experience teaching classes in God's outdoor classroom. He has over 20 years of experience teaching at camps, churches, parks, schools, and home fellowships. Bruce is also a conference and convention speaker, teaching nature, science, and doing historical presentations.Bruce is an experienced researcher for "Little Bear" (Mantle Ministry), helping in publishing books and materials for that ministry.
Our Goal
1.
We wish to glorify God in all that we do.
2. We
desire to teach an apreciation for God's creation and the
complex relationships He has formed.
3. We
pray that our students will develop the eyes of faith to sense God's
ceation in a new light.
4. We
teeach what the "Dominion Mandate" means and what the implications
are for us today.
Our Programs
We
operate year-round and do overnight camp outs as well as one day
presentations. Nature Walks or Conference speaking can be set up for
your group. Please call for current programs, as some are
seasonal.
Our newest program this
winter is a overnight trip to the beautiful Monterey Bay to study
Oceanography and see what "El-nino" is doing. We visit the Monterey
Bay Aquarium, go whale watching on a large boat and visit the Monarch
Butterfly Reserve. Come learn what God has set in place and how it
all works together. Remember: Nature is NOT our mother and Time is
NOT our father, we were created to glorify God and enjoy him
forever.
