1998 Regal Beauty National Pageant Our party for our contestants in the past has been left a little to be desired, so in efforts to make this a more memorable event we are putting something special together for the contestants and families. All contestants may attend free! But are required to be chaperoned by at least one adult. The judges will be invited so that you may meet them! The party will be on Saturday night after all competition is complete! It is imperative that I have a head count on all that plan to attend so that we can plan this event accordingly. Cost for children under 7 will be $8.00 and children 8 and over and all adults will be charged $12.50. All soft drinks will be provided. This should be a very nice part of the weekend. Don't forget to bring your gift to exchange with other contestants in your division. Please remember that the buffet will be for one hour only..the exact time will be in your registration packet. Door Decorating Contest!-The contestant with the best decorated door will receive a nice gift! Doors will be judged Saturday afternoon and the winner will be announced at the party! Contestants don't forget to bring your makeup cases to the party! Ad Pages and Raffle Tickets Our pageant is self supporting and we hope that each contestant will strive to obtain additional sponsors. As this means more extravagant gifts and less out of pocket cost for you. Ad pages are $125.00 this year. All pictures submitted for the program book this year must be either a 3X5 or 4X6 black and white or color picture. Discounts for selling ad pages:
Helpful Hints for selling ad pages 1. Make a list of prospective sponsors, friends, family, local businesses and organizations (such as beauty shops, dentists, doctors, insurance companies, real estate agencies, small clothing stores, banks, grocery stores, etc.) 2. Visit each one in person. Asking over the phone usually does not work. Look your best. Wear one of your crowns (most people will say yes to a child looking like a little prince/princess). 3. Begin with a short introduction, then explain that you wish to represent your area at the National Finals. 4. Explain that you would appreciate their sponsorship, that is a tax deductible expense, and they will have their name and address in the Program book which is widely distributed all over the USA. 5. Thank them and if they do not give you a check at that time, ask when you can come by and pick it up. Tell them the deadline to get ad pictures and names in the program book. 6. Don't stop at just one, some will say no but many will say yes! As you sell your ad pages, use a sheet of typing paper, ads must be copy ready and your childs name must appear on each page.
