For all you first time readers of my stories, here is just a brief little intro to the characters and their personalities, as well as some other little things to help you along the way.
JACK SKELLINGTON - Pumpkin King of Halloweentown, Jack is the almighty ruler of everything that goes bump in the night. At 508 years of age, he is a highly respected ruler, feared by some. At 2 years of age his mother Naomi passed on. At eight years his father Robert died as well, scarring little Jack permanantly. Forced to take the throne without the proper skills he made many mistakes at the beginning of his rule, but today is no longer quite so clumsy in his errors. He occasionally grows depressed, tired of his way of life and bitter over the death of his father. With assistance from his beloved wife Sally, though, he is able to stayon track without risking the ruin of Halloween.
SALLY SKELLINGTON - Wife of Jack, she was created by an evil scientist named Dr. Finklestein. Tired of always being stuck in his lab she ran away, soon falling in love with Jack. She is a strong woman, who is always ready to stand her ground and make her point seen by others. At one point when her husband is feeling low, she does his Pumpkin King duties instead, so that the holiday won't fall behind. Always determined but at the same time loving and dependable, she would do anything for her one true love Jack, even sacrifice her own life.
SHOCK SKELLINGTON - Oldest of three siblings, she was adopted by Jack and Sally when they were first married. Now she is the heir to the throne, and is in constant training for the day when she will do. Strong willed like Sally, but occassionally stubborn and hard to talk to. Nevertheless, it is quite evident that she is the best choice as Jack's heir.
LOCK SKELLINGTON - Brother of Shock, he was also one of the three adopted. He likes action games quite alot, and enjoys playing games with his younger brother, even if he is growing a bit old for them. Argues with his sister quite alot, but admire Jack greatly. Likes to play pranks.
BARREL SKELLINGTON - Youngest of the three, he is more of a 'mama's boy'. Of the three, he is the most dependant upon Sally. Like his brother he likes pranks, but will not play them on Sally. Of the three, he is classified as more of a 'loner', enjoying games that he can play by himself.
THE MAYOR - Second in command after Jack, he is one of those who fears the Pumpkin King. Still he and Jack are good friends, even though he can be quite demanding and rather annoying at times. When the King needs a pal to talk to, this is the man he will quite often seek out.
DR. AU TOPSY - The local doctor, he will be showing up now and again through the stories. Of all the doctors in Halloweentown, he is the one that the Skellington clan trusts the most.
A WORD ABOUT DEATH IN HALLOWEEN In the stories, characters will sometimes die. This is possible through the Stages Process. There are two 'stages', life (aka Humanity) and then death. After life, a human soul will occasionally be trapped in a hidden stage between the two, which could be any of the Holiday Worlds. After a person has lived out their life in one of the holiday worlds, he then passes into the second stage, Complete Death. In the Holday Worlds, they are still being kept half-alive, which is why they are able to die. In Halloween, one's life can last for hundreds of years, as in Jack's case. It is all up the the soul when one dies. Even if you are a creature of Halloween, though, you still have the chance to go to Heaven despite the sins you commited. As long as you were a good person, you can go up to the heavenly paradise rather then down to the firey pits. This is what happened in the case of Robert and Naomi Skellington.
