Ms. Lawrene MS. LAWRENE, started her dance training at the age of 2 1/2 years. She studied tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, acrobatics and gymnastics at Cinderella School of Dance, Munroe Dance Studio and Corpus Christi Gymnastics. She has attended numerous dance training conventions. She has trained with Jo Rowan (Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo), Jennifer Lopez, Anna Marie Leo, Art Stone and Bo Wagner to name a few. She studied private lessons with Bo Wagner who choreographed and taught her an award winning tap dance which won her many local, state and national awards at pageants and dance competitions. She was chosen to tour with Dance Olympus Dance Conventions as a VIP. She was a member of the Tigerettes dance team at Mary Carroll High School and the award winning Cindy Girls dance team at Cinderella School of Dance. She competed in group, duet and teacher categories at Showstopper, I Love Dance, Encore, Dance Showcase and Dance Olympus dance competitions. She won "Most Entertaining of The Day" at Showstoppers and high point in solo, duet, group and teacher categories at Showstopper, I Love Dance, Encore and Dance Showcase dance competitions at the state and national level. At Showstoppers National Talent Competition, she studied dance with the Fly Girls; one of which was Jennifer Lopez. She danced in the chorus of "Dames at Sea' at the Ritz Theatre. She started participating in pageants at the age of 12 years when she was crowned Junior Miss Ingleside Round-Up and, 2 years later, she was once again crowned Junior Miss Ingleside Round-Up. She continuted in pageants winning numerous beauty, talent and photogenic titles on the local, state and national level: Cinderella Girl, Our Diamond Miss, Starlight, Sunburst and many more. She was crowned Our Diamond Miss Texas State Junior Talent Queen and, 2 years later, Texas State Elegant Miss Talent Queen. At Our Diamond Miss Nationals, she was crowned the overall National Our Diamond Girl Queen. Over the years, she has taught classes at all the branches of Cinderella School of Dance, Corpus Christi Recreation Centers, as well as her own studio, Dance Factory. She studied baton twirling with Charlene Hale and Ellen Rizzo. She was a twirler at Haas Junior High School and won many titles at baton twirling competitions. She studied modeling and was in fashion shows in and around Corpus Christi; as well as, featured in a "TV3 Loves You" video on KIIItv. She was artistic director of the Dance Theatre of Corpus Christi and choreographed the performances of "The Dream" and "Celebration of Spring". She is the owner, instructor and choreographer at Cinderella School of Dance Corpus Christi and director of Corpus Christi Dance Crew and Flashmob Dance Team from Cinderella School of Dance. Team Members are age 5-17 and entertain with free live performances at Community, Charity and Church Events. Team members are chosen from students who have been at Cinderella for 3+ years and have performed at: Festival of The Arts, Harbor Lights, Dia De Los Muertos, HEB Feast of Sharing, Making Strides against Breast Cancer, CC Zombie Walk, House of Rock, Art Walk, Rec Con, Holy Family Catholic Church, Grace United Methodist Church, Mayor's Kite Festival, Museum of Science and History, Corpus Christi Zombie Walk, Brewster's, Moody HS Football Booster, TAMUCC men's and women's basketball games, Garden Estates, IceRays games, Immaculate Conception Church,Barne's and Nobles, Starfest, Casa Super Hero 5k, Padre Staples Mall, Sunrise Mall, Jim Cooper Auditorium, Texas JazzFest Pageant, Domingo Live, Channel 6 News at Sunrise, And they are the 1st Place winners 3 years in a row for Civic Dance Team at the Buc Day's Jr. Parade. |

Ms. Orene ORENE HARRIS-CUSTER, with over 50 years teaching experience, began her tap, ballet, jazz & gymnastics training at the age of 5 with Sylvia Grey School of Dance in Corpus Christi. She began teaching for Sylvia in 1964 and has taught in Germany, Michigan, Austin, Corpus Christi & throughout South Texas. She taught for the CC Recreation Department from 1972-1985 and was a recreation center supervisor and dance & gymnastics instructor. Ms. Orene is listed in Notable Women of Texas, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in Entertainment and received the National Dance Achievement Award for her many years of dedication to the art of dance. She was director of the Dance Theatre of Corpus Christi for two years. She choreographed routines for her national award winning dance team, "Cindy Girls", from 1986-2004. She continued her dance & gymnastics education throughout the yers by attending workshops and studying with world renowned instructors, Jo Rowan (Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo), Anna Marie Leo, Art Stone and Bo Wagner to name a few. In addition to teaching dance & gymnastics, she is also an accomplished photographer; having won numerous national awards, including Overall Highpoint Awards each year from 1995-2002 at Showstopper Nations. Ms. Orene was also the coach of the National Champion Cinderella DreamTeam AllStar Cheerleaders. |
