DANCE STYLES

TAP is an exciting form of dance in which dancers wear special shoes equipped with metal taps. Tap dancers use their feet like drums to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats. The term "tap dancing" is derived from the tapping sound produced when the small metal plates on the dancer's shoes touch a hard floor or surface. BALLET serves as a backbone for many other styles of dance, as many other dance genres are based on ballet. Ballet is based on techniques that have been developed over centuries. Ballet uses music and dance to tell stories. Ballet dancers have the ability to transport an audience to another world. JAZZ is a fun dance style that relies heavily on originality and improvisation. Many jazz dancers mix different styles into their dancing, incorporating their own expression. Jazz dancing often uses bold, dramatic body movements, including body isolations and contractions. HIP-HOP is a dance style, usually danced to hip-hop music, that evolved from the hip-hop culture. Hip-hop includes various moves such as breaking, popping, locking and krumping, and even house dance. Improvisation and personal interpretation are essential to hip-hop dancing.

DANCE PROGRAM

The Cinderella Dance objective is to offer a program that will implement diversity and depth into the dance education of your child. At Cinderella, we want only the best for our young dancers... and that is what we give, only our best. Our staff is dedicated to providing an array of exciting activities that make dance FUN! We strictly limit our student teacher ratio in an effort to maximize the level of instruction. Our program is designed to allow chidren of the same age group to work and learn together while having fun. They will be with instructors in a group according to their age and can build confidence through success. In addition, we believe in positive reinforcement and encouragement. We do not allow our dancers to say "I can't" and we continually motivate and encourage our young dancers. Our professionally taught dance classes for girls and boys are designed specifically for basic training in all areas of dance. Classes are designed for ages 3 years - teens. PRE-SCHOOL DANCE PROGRAM

The Pre-School Dance program is specifically designed for children ages 3 to 5 years. The primary goal of our Pre-School program is to make learning dance FUN! It is essential to introduce children to positive learning environments during the pre-school years. We offer combination classes of tap, ballet & gymnastics for this age to give them a variety of learning experiences and reduce boredom. * Click on the "Schedule" link on the left of this page for a complete daily schedule of classes for that location.

No refunds for classes missed including scheduled holidays. If a student is absent for 3 or more classes, his/her place cannot be held unless regular tuition is received. In cases of prolonged illness or injury, please notify Ms. Orene. Make- up Policy : Because of our strict student to teacher ratio, missed classes will not result in makeup classes, pro-rated tuition or refunds. Dress: All dance students wear any color leotard and tights. Dance skirts may be worn over leotards. Shoes: Pink ballet shoes. Black low heeled tap shoes. Purchase dance wear at WalMart and dance shoes a PayLess Shoes on SPID near Greenwood. All dance supplies can also be purchased at Academy and Action On Stage (located on McArdle across from Sunrise Mall). NO chewing gum, food, toys, or dangling jewelry. Students are not allowed to bring friends to class. REGISTRATION FORM MUST BE SIGNED BEFORE THE STUDENT MAY PARTICIPATE IN HIS/ HER DANCE CLASS.
